Ted walked through the tunnel leading into Ivy's office-type room. She was sat at her desk, facing away from the door.

"Selena sent me." That was all Ted said before Ivy turned around to face him. She had long, strawberry ginger hair that was put up into a neat claw clip. She had heterocromia, one eye was blue and the other was green. For post apocalyptic, she looked very neat and tidy. Just like she did before Ted left.

"Well, you're back again? I assume, it's for good reason." She stood up and walked closer to Ted, her heels clicking at every step.

"Yeah. My uh- friend, Diego, got shot, and I brought him here to get saved by your medical facility. I told Selena I'd do anything, and I mean it. I'd sell my soul if it meant that he continues to live."

"Very well. There's no reason we can't both benefit from this. Your friend will need time for his wound to heal before you guys can go anywhere else. For those next few days, you do what I say. Fetch all the materials I ask of you, and do all the dirty work I say. Otherwise, we let him die. Deal?" Ivy extended her hand out to be shaken.

What could he do? He didn't have another option. It was only a few days. Fuck, he needed Diego to survive. "Deal." Ted shook her hand. It was getting late, so there was no point in him doing much.

"Your work starts tomorrow. Now leave."

It was all worth it, if it meant that he lives...

Victor came out of the room where he had been stitching up Diego. He turned to Ted.

"He's resting. He will be awake soon."

Ted entered and sat down next to the bed Diego lay on, admiring him. The way his dark, curly hair fell perfectly on his face, his birthmark under his left eye... he was so perfect. Diego's eyes fluttered open in that moment.

"Diego!" Ted perked up, leaning over and cupping Diego's face.

"Ted, there's still blood on your face.." Diego giggled a bit.

"I don't care. Are you okay?"

"Yes, I'm-"

All he needed was confirmation. He closed his eyes as he kissed Diego, the feeling just as amazing as the first time. Diego's clean hand tangled in Ted's hair, feeling the moment. It was just them against the world. Just them... Ted and Diego.

As the kiss ended, they both opened their eyes. Diego spoke first.

"You're a really good friend, you know that?"

"Oh, fuck off."

They both giggled and Ted couldn't help his smile. Diego was already returning to normal. "You saved me. Now I have saved you. We're even."

"Well it's my turn to save you next, okay?" Diego joked, before his humorous tone died away a bit. "So, what's the price of them saving my life?"

"Oh, I just have to help around a little bit. It's not a big deal, don't worry about it. You'll be healed soon, and then we can head off." Of course Ted felt bad that he lied, but he didn't really have a choice.

"I'm gonna bring you some food from the car. Don't go anywhere, okay?" Ted smiled.

"Couldn't if I wanted to." Diego replied quickly. Ted left for the car to get some supplies.

The sound of clicking heels could be heard entering Diego's room.

"Back so soon? That was fast." Diego thought it was Ted. It most definitely wasn't.

"So, is this what Ted has brought for us to play with?" Ivy chuckled as she walked towards Diego's bed.

"Uhm... who are you?" Diego face became one of worry as he saw the woman he didn't recognise.

"I'm Ivy, and I'm the leader of crimson chains. Ted really cares for you, doesn't he?" Ivy grinned as she ran a finger along Diego's jaw, before gripping his chin, getting a good look at his face. Diego gritted his teeth in response. "I can see why. It's a shame, really."

"What do you mean by that?" Diego tilted his head in confusion. What the fuck was she yapping about?

"Ted, bless him, he tries, but he isn't that competent. Oh, and he just basically sold himself as a slave for the next 3 days just to keep you alive. I knew he'd come back to my side of town at some point..." Ivy grinned.

"Hey, don't say that about him! He's am-"
Diego got cut off by the sound of the door swinging open. Ted had turned.

"We will continue this chit chat later. I expect you in my office by 6 am sharp tomorrow, Ted." Ivy walked out extravagantly, and Ted sat down on Diego's bed, next to him.
