Ted went to work for Ivy again, back on the 14 hour graft. 3 days straight like this was going to kill him alive, surely...

Diego woke up to the absence of warmth from Ted. He frowned and sat up. Being alone and everything was boring- the only thing he could do is play guitar. And so he did. While thinking about Ted. His blonde hair, his sweet smile, the fact he literally sold himself a slave just to save his life...
The ideas started to flow.
Hopefully, this could cheer Ted up.

Ted's work was a little less today, due to all the hard work he put in the day prior. Nonetheless, he was still really tired. As he was walking back towards the medical unit where Diego was staying, he came across Selena on the path.

"You know, your... friend has been playing a lot of guitar today. He's quite good..."

"Yeah, he's pretty great..." Ted smiled at the thought of Diego.

"Try not to snog him too much!" Selena left that little comment as she walked away. Ted just went red in the face and entered the room.

"Hey D."
"Hey Honey."

Ted, as per usual, sat down on the left side of Diego and smiled as he looked at his beloved.

"You did anything fun today?"
"Yeah, I uh.. I wrote a song for you." Diego smiled as he looked at Ted. "Want to hear it?"

"Of course I do."

Diego began to strum his guitar, playing a nice rhythm before he began to sing.
"And I'd give up forever to touch you

Diego's face was full of concentration as he sang and played, his emotions really going into it. All Ted could do is look at Diego with admiration. Did he really mean those words?

"And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am."

Diego kept singing, smiling as he thought about his beloved Ted. After he finished singing, he spoke.

"The apocalypse isn't worth surviving if you're not with me, Ted. Promise me you'll never leave me."
"Promise."

The night passed and the last day Ted had to work came. He worked the hardest he ever had in his life, Ivy worked him dry, to the point he almost fainted.

Meanwhile, Selena came into Diego's room for the day and kept him company.

"So, are you and Ted dating?" She interrogated Diego, curious to the situation.

"Well, not yet. We've kissed a few times, and cuddled for the past few nights but I don't know if we are at that point yet."

"Oh come on. I know that look in your face- you loooveee him! Tell me about your first kiss." Selena grinned as she teased Diego. She was actually surprisingly nice.

"Okay, I'll tell you. We were at Ruddleside when someone who had a grudge against Ted showed up. They took a shot at me, which is how I ended up with my wound that you guys fixed up. Anyway, the gunshot alerted a nocturnal of our position and it attacked the woman who shot me and killed her.Ted and I managed to escape, but I was still bleeding out, and I mean badly. Once we got out of ruddleside, we stopped somewhere and I got out of the car and fell onto the floor. I thought I was going to die, and Ted was begging me to keep living. I thought, you know, this was my only and my last chance. So I kissed him." As Diego explained the story, a bunch of emotions were displayed on his face. Love, anger, fear...

Selena was squealing of joy. It was just sooo cute! "AND?! WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?" She was completely fangirling over it.

"Well, Teddy looked at me and he told me that he wasn't going to let me die. So he ripped his shirt and used it as a bandage around me and then drove me over here. You know the rest of the story." Diego's smile was soft and genuine. She could tell that he was really grateful that Ted saved him.

"And you're glad that he saved you, because now you can be together?"

"Yeah, pretty much."

Selena re-adjusted her glasses after she wiped them clean. "You know, I think Ted is really brave."

"Really? He's a total idiot." Diego chuckled, he was joking, but Ted sometimes could do some REALLY stupid things.

"Yeah. He left this place, which was hard to do. And most of all, he came back. He knows it's dangerous, but he did it to save you. I couldn't leave this place. It's too scary out there." Selena sighed as she thought about leaving.

"Well, maybe you should come with us?" Diego grinned at the idea. It would be building a community, just like Ted suggested.

"Oh, no, I can't. They'll find me. They'll bring me back." The atmosphere suddenly changed.

"Who will-"

Just then, the door swung open. Ted was back. Selene quickly said her goodbye to Diego and left, leaving them alone.
