Late Conversation

The day ends and now I'm at practice hating life as usual. We're practicing passing drills and I'm with Kai. "What the hell happened to you? You look like you got hit by a car." Because I did.

"I've been clumsy a lot recently. The hard woods floors want payback for all the times we've walked on it." I joke and she laughs.

"Damn you might need Ty to invest in some carpet before you knock yourself out." She says and I nod. "So not to be nosy or nothing but you've been seeming happier lately." She says and I catch the ball and tilt my head.

"What you mean?"

She shrugs. "You're smiling more like you are now even though your body is showing fatigue." She says and I try to hide the smile. "You've found someone huh?" I nod. "Aye I'm happy for you. I swear you called off all-

"Oh my god! I did not swear off relationships!" I say and she laughs and we continue. We finish practice and head into the locker room. I text Tyson that I'm getting a ride home.

"So who is she?" She asks as I change my clothes after getting out the shower.

"Who?"

She gives me a bored look. "You know who. The girl that's got you so happy." She says leaning on the lockers with her shoulder.

I sigh in content. "She doesn't go here. She's older."

"Older?" She raises a brow and I nod. "How much older?"

"10 years older." Her brows raise.

"Damn you found yourself a milf?" She says and I laugh shaking my head.

"She doesn't have kids so technically she's just a woman.

"Aye same thing. But aye that's what's up. Think she got a friend?"

I scoff. "She has a sister who said she doesn't mind dipping in the young pool. I can get you her number."

"Aye good looking out. Look i gotta head out see you Wednesday for practice." She says and I nod and she leaves. I finish getting dressed and then head out to the front of the school where I wait for my ride aka my girlfriend.

The doors open and she walks out looking as beautiful as ever. "Hey you." I say and she smiles waking down the steps.

"Hey you. How was practice?"

I shrug. "Actually good. It feels nice having a girlfriend who I know isn't cheating on me."

She chuckles. "Yeah it does. But is Tyson coming to get you?" I shake my head.

"I kinda told him I had a ride." I say and she raises a brow and then realization hits .

"Oh no Talia. I can't do that. I cannot drive a student off campus you know this."

I nod smiling. "I know which is why I'm going to walk across the street to the neighborhood and you're going to pick me up from there. See, problem solved because now I'm just someone who happens to be your student who needs a ride." I say and she smirks at me.

"You're are sneaky."

"Nah I'm just in love and want to spend as much time with my girlfriend as possible." I say and she blushes.

"God you're so cute. Fine. Get up there." She says and I walk up across the street to the neighborhood and I go in and wait until I see the headlight of the Mercedes. I get in the car and she's smiling brightly. "I have to take you straight home so no funny business."

I chuckle. "No funny business I promise." I say and grab her free hand and kiss the back of it. "I love you Verena."

"I love you too baby. How was school?"
