MORGAN

Two Days Later......

The morning bus was a blur of gray and rain.

Me, bundled up in a heavy old coat, my breath fogged the window as I watched the world outside transform into a glistening canvas.

Raindrops raced down the glass smearing the view into a distorted kaleidoscope. I was on my way to school, a familiar routine that felt somehow more poignant today.

A knot of anticipation settled in my stomach. Today was going to be the day that I would break the news to both Grandma and Zyaire about my pregnancy.

The thought sent a shiver down my spine. My grandma was a woman of strong opinions, and she didn't play when it came to shit like that.

I knew damn well she wasn't going to take the news well. But I couldn't keep the secret any longer, she would soon notice the bump.

The weight of everything was just becoming too heavy to bear with.

Although I felt a sense of relief since I'd told Khari the truth, a part of me regretted telling him.

I could tell he didn't respect me anymore.

As the bus tumbled along, my mind drifted back to the day I discovered I was pregnant.

Seeing the test in Journey's hand, it had been a moment of shock, of disbelief, but now as I looked out at the rain soaked city, I felt a bit more calm.

I was going to have to be a mother to my kid. It was a daunting prospect, but it was also a beautiful one.

When the bus finally pulled up to the school, I stepped off into the downpour.

I took a deep breath and squared my shoulders.

I was going to have to break the news to Zyaire.

The bell rang just as I busted through the classroom door, my heart pounding in my chest.

I was late because of the stupid ass bus and I knew it.

I always hated being late for class because all the attention would be drawn to me.

Now I would have to face the disapproving stares of everyone.

As I hurried to my seat, I felt a wave of embarrassment wash over me.

Zyaire, and Antonio, were already engaged in a whispered conversation.

I could feel their eyes glued on me, from the minute I sat down they began to laugh, I knew whatever they were saying had to be something to do with me.

Their voices carried around the room. "Nah bro, look at her," Antonio snickered, "She even bigger than the last time, mane what the fuck is they feeding her?" Antonio scanned my figure.

Zyaire joined in, his voice dripping with sarcasm "Shordy tryna hide all that belly under that coat."

Little did he know I was possibly carrying his baby.
