"I'll risk it all to find a place where I can hear my thoughts"
Pool House - The Backseat Lovers
After spending the afternoon with Sam and Dean, the excitement over butterfly knives and bonding faded slightly as the weight of Amara's ongoing search for answers returned. The questions surrounding her lineage still haunted her, despite the moments of levity she'd shared with the brothers.
She needed to know more about her family's history—the divine blessing, the deal Crowley hinted at, all of it. And she was beginning to feel like the answers were just beyond her reach.
Amara made her way through the quiet corridors of the bunker, heading toward the war room where she knew Castiel was poring over his own set of ancient texts. She trusted him more than anyone when it came to uncovering the truth about her past. Castiel was honest, sometimes painfully so, and she knew he would help her find the answers she needed.
When she entered the room, Castiel looked up from his reading, his ever-watchful gaze immediately softening when he saw her. "Amara," he greeted with a nod. "How are you?"
She gave him a small smile, though there was a hint of tension behind it. "I'm okay," she said, sitting down across from him. "I've been doing a lot of research with Sam, but... I feel like I've hit a wall. I've gone through everything the bunker has, and I'm still missing pieces."
Castiel listened quietly, his hands folding on the table in front of him. He could see the frustration in her eyes, the way the weight of her unanswered questions seemed to press down on her. "You're searching for more information about your family's connection to Heaven, aren't you?"
Amara nodded. "Yeah. I know there's more to the story than what we've found so far. I need to know what really happened—why my family was blessed, or... if it was more than that." She paused, glancing at him with a look of uncertainty. "Do you think there's anything in Heaven's archives? Something that could give me more answers?"
Castiel's brow furrowed slightly as he considered her question. "Heaven's archives contain many ancient records—some of which even angels have forgotten. But since the Fall, access to certain texts has been limited." He paused, his gaze softening as he looked at her. "However, I do have connections that could help. It might take some time, but I can reach out and see if any records remain about your family's history."
Amara's heart swelled with hope. "You'd do that?"
Castiel nodded firmly. "Of course. You deserve to know the truth. If there's anything left in Heaven's archives that can help, I'll find it."
She exhaled a breath she didn't realise she'd been holding, her shoulders relaxing slightly. "Thank you, Cas. I don't know what I'd do without your help."
Castiel gave her a small smile, his usual stoic expression softening. "You've always had the strength to uncover the truth, Amara. But I'll do what I can to guide you."
Amara hesitated for a moment, glancing down at the worn table before looking back up at him. "I'm just... worried about what I'll find. Crowley keeps saying that my family made a deal, that it wasn't just a blessing. I don't know if he's telling the truth, but it scares me to think that everything I am, everything I can do... might be tied to something darker."
Castiel's gaze darkened slightly, his voice steady but full of concern. "Crowley is a manipulator, Amara. He sees things through the lens of Hell, where deals are common. But Heaven's blessings—though sometimes difficult—are not the same. Your family was touched by divine grace, and that is something to be proud of."
Amara bit her lip, her thoughts swirling. "But what if Crowley's right? What if there's more to it, something that we don't know yet?"
Castiel reached across the table, placing a gentle hand on hers. "Whatever the truth is, we'll face it together. You don't have to carry the burden of your lineage alone."
