"And spite's as good a reason to take his power
When you hate the body you are in
Oh love, you're acting just for him
As he counts his gold and green in his ivory tower"
as good a reason - Paris Paloma

It had only been a week since the brothers had laid down the rule: no touching, no acting on the tension, nothing until she turned 21. Three more weeks of waiting. Three weeks that felt like a lifetime as the tension grew thicker with every shared look, every accidental touch, every unspoken desire.

Amara had been staying with them for months now. In that time, their relationship had formed quickly but naturally, the closeness between them growing with each passing day. But now, with the rule in place, everything had become heightened. Every glance from Sam or Dean carried a weight that hadn't been there before. Every shared moment was laced with the unspoken promise of what was to come.

Tonight, the bunker was quiet, and Amara found herself sitting in the common area, a book open on her lap. She wasn't reading. Her mind was elsewhere, swirling with the tension that had been growing since the brothers had made their promise. She could feel it, like a current buzzing just beneath the surface, waiting to snap.

Dean entered the room first, his presence filling the space as he leaned casually against the doorframe, his arms crossed over his chest. Sam followed close behind, his steps measured and calm, though the intensity in his eyes betrayed the storm brewing beneath the surface.

"You've been quiet," Sam said, his voice soft, but there was something in his tone that made Amara's pulse quicken. He moved to sit beside her on the sofa, his body close but not touching, as if he was trying to maintain some semblance of control.

Dean stayed standing, his gaze fixed on her, a mix of curiosity and something darker lurking in his eyes. "What's going on in that head of yours?"

Amara shrugged, setting the book aside. "Just thinking."

Dean's eyes narrowed slightly as he leaned forward, resting his hands on the back of the sofa. "Thinking about what?"

She hesitated for a moment, biting her lip as she glanced between the two of them. For days now, she'd been honing her empathic abilities, learning to control the flood of emotions that constantly surrounded her. And with that control had come a new awareness—a deeper understanding of the connection she shared with Sam and Dean.

A playful idea sparked in her mind, and she couldn't help the small smile that tugged at her lips. She hadn't tested her limits yet, hadn't pushed her powers. But with the brothers sitting so close, their emotions practically vibrating in the air, she couldn't resist.

She tilted her head slightly, her tone light but teasing. "I've been practicing, you know. Getting better at controlling my powers."

Dean raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Yeah? How's that going?"

"Pretty well," Amara replied, her voice playful but carrying an edge of something more. "I've been working on sensing moods... maybe even influencing them."

That got Sam's attention. His body tensed beside her, his dark eyes flicking to hers with a sharp intensity. "Influencing them?"

Amara nodded, her heart racing as she pushed a little further. "Yeah. If I practice hard enough, I might even be able to make people feel things... make them break their own rules."

The atmosphere shifted instantly. The tension that had been simmering beneath the surface exploded, thickening the air around them. Amara could feel the weight of their reactions—the way their desire flared like a fire, hot and immediate. And for the first time, she could see it—the colours swirling around them, deep and intense, like a storm gathering on the horizon.
