Jake and Johnnie is trying to plan a trip for a youtube video, they end up arguing ablut where they should go.
——
It was dark outside, the moonlight glenced through the living room window, casting a dark vibe inside of the livingroom. Both Jake and Johnnie had been really busy recently with making YouTube video's. For the last few month's both of there life's had whirlwind of filming, editing, and planning their next viral video. But today, things were different.
Johnnie sat on the couch, his laptop balanced on his thighs, while Jake paced back and forth behind him, clutching his phone loaded with potential trip ideas. They had agreed on a big trip to make some more fun content, but so far, the planning phase was proving tumultuous.
"Okay, hear me out," Jake said, excitement spilling from his voice. "We could go to Japan! The culture, the food, the cherry blossoms."
Johnnie's scrunched his face. "Japan could be great, but don't you think everyone is doing Japan? We need something fresh, something different. What about going to Iceland? The landscapes would be insane for vlogs. Plus, it's a little more cost-effective."
Jake halted, staring at Johnnie. "Cost-effective? We're not filming a whole movie, Johnnie. Think about the algorithms. Iceland? It's cold, Plus, can you imagine trying to set up in that weather? We'd spend more time battling the wind than filming! And Japan whould be fire for out channels. We'd blow up!"
"Sure, if you want to blow our savings too, Have you looked at flight prices?" Johnnie shot back, rolling his eyes, feeling the tension rise. "And really? Don't act like you can't handle a little chill. Remember that time you complained about the sunburn in Mexico? You can't expect a perfect backdrop every time!"
"You think I'm just complaining, but you never listen to what I want. Every time we plan a trip, it's your way. What about my followers? They'd love to see something new in Japan!"
"What about your followers?" Johnnie snapped back, frustration bubbling to the surface. "This isn't just about your audience, Jake! We're a team, we're supposed to be making these decisions together. You're not the only one with people to entertain!"
Jake's eyebrows knitted together, his voice rising as he started walking around. "That's rich coming from you! You act like I don't care about what you want, but when we plan these trips, it always turns into what you think is best. It's your way or the highway!"
Johnnie's lips pressed into a thin line. "And you act like you don't care about consequences. It's always about the next big thrill for you, Jake."
"What's that supposed to mean? You think I'm reckless?" Jake's voice grew louder, by the
frustration bubbling beneath the surface."Yes, I do!" Johnnie shot back, standing up from the couch, his eyes narrowing. "You put everything on the line for views"
Jake's face flushed with anger. "And what about you? You're so cautious that you're becoming boring. I'm sorry not all of us want to sit behind a desk and play it safe. I actually want to live."
Johnnie shook his head. "Living doesn't mean throwing yourself to the wind. It means balancing fun with responsibility. You know, I thought we were on the same page with that!"
"Clearly not!" Jake exclaimed, stepping back to emphasize his frustration. "Maybe we need to rethink this whole partnership if we can't even agree on a trip."
"Partnership?" Johnnie snapped, the word echoing in the air. "So, is this just about the trip for you? Are you ready to throw away our friendship because of a destination?"
"Friendship? This feels more like a business arrangement half the time! You're always so focused on the content, the profit! What about us?" Jake arms flew out wide, gesturing to the house around them, a space filled with timestamps of their laughter but now suddenly heavy with disagreement.
Johnnie took a deep breath, the anger settling as he felt the weight of Jake's words. "You're right...maybe I do get too caught up in the numbers. But it's hard not to when that's our life now. I just don't want to argue with you for the sake of views."
"Then let's find a balance!" Jake pleaded, softening slightly. "We can go to Japan, but also plan for Iceland in the future. We can make amazing content in both places."
"I... maybe we can find a middle ground," Johnnie whispered, the fiery argument slowly dimming as he realized the bond that was worth saving. "What if we create a budget for both trips? We can pick one to focus on, and maybe the other later? You know, like a collaborative adventure."
Jake's expression shifted from frustration to a slow smile. "You know what? I like that idea. Let's make it fun, no controversy involved"
Johnnie chuckled, the tension finally dissipating. "Let's shake on it, then. Japan first, Iceland next."
"Now, about that vlog intro..." Jake said, his smile widening as he bounced back with ideas.
Johnnie grinned, the rush of creativity pumping through him once again. "You mean my idea of us bungee jumping?"
"Yeah, That's still risky, but I'm in if you are."
"Sounds like a plan."
And just like that, their earlier argument faded into the background, leaving space for creativity, and the steady bond of there friendship.
