Chapter 25

"Shit!" Izuku hissed, sitting bolt up right in bed and scaring Hanta awake.

The hero was up in a second, flipping on the bedside lamp and scanning the room for whatever danger made Izuku freak out. He was still blinking sleep from his eyes, but he found nothing out of the ordinary, looking over to his sort-of boyfriend with furrowed brows.

Izuku had already gotten out of bed, scrambling to throw on a hoodie.

"Where're you going?" Hanta asked, swinging his legs over the side of the bed as he forced himself to be fully alert. "What's wrong?"

"I need to find Kacchan," Izuku vaguely explained, hopping on one foot as he tried to get his shoes on.

"At..." Hanta trailed off as he grabbed his phone to check the time, "three in the morning? Can't it wait?"

"Unfortunately, no," Izuku grumbled, finally managing to get one shoe on. Now he just had to do the other. "I was supposed to tell him days ago, but it slipped my mind."

"Tell him what?"

Izuku couldn't tell if it was jealousy or genuine concern he was hearing in the pro's voice. "Remember when he killed me? I was covering for Shigaraki and Chisaki while they were making a deal over quirk eraser."

"Quirk erasers have been in circulation for years," Hanta sighed, running a hand down his face. "Can't it wait 'til tomorrow?"

"Enji Todoroki wasn't buying them years ago, he bought them days ago and they're meant for Kacchan," Izuku finally admitted. He'd originally planned for only Bakugou to know, since he was the intended target. The more people who found out, the more likely it would be for the villains to figure out Izuku was the information leak.

Hanta balked at his words. "Todoroki? As in Endeavor?"

"That's the one," Izuku said with a single nod, now on a mission to find his phone. He hated leaving the house without it, what if something happened and Toga or Hanta or whoever needed him, couldn't reach him? "Still bitter his license was revoked and double bitter his protégé isn't the new number one."

"Iz," Hanta called, redirecting the villain's attention from finding his phone to him. "Just call him," he said while handing over his own device.

"Oh."

Hanta quietly laughed as Izuku quickly found the right contact (he figured 'Blasty' was probably the guy he was looking for) and dialed. It rang all the way through before being sent to voicemail.

"He's probably sleeping, it's three A.M. and Bakugou's never been a night owl," Hanta said with a shrug, remember their high school years when the blond religiously went to bed at eight thirty.

Izuku shook his head as he threw Hanta's phone back to him. "He's on patrol tonight, which is why I need to find him."

Hanta stretched his arms up over his head with a loud groan and climbed to his feet. "Well, let's go find him, then."

A hand and soft smile was offered to him in return. As much as Izuku didn't like carrying Hanta around on his own business, he couldn't deny that having the hero at his side was a comfort.

"Do we have to teleport?" Hanta asked in a low whine. He didn't think he'd be much help if he was sick to his stomach the whole time.

"Compromise. I teleport us outside and then you can swing the rest of the way," Izuku offered, a small smirk taking place of his smile. "If you can keep up."

Hanta shook his head with a chuckle, finally taking Izuku's hand. "Won't be a problem, lightning bug."

"We'll see."
