Going on with the day. Talking to her NEW friend. her BETTER friend.
She has a new friend. She only needs one. She only needs the one.
And sometimes they look at her a little funny, but that's normal for a friend! They're not glaring at her, are they?
Are they? Do they hate her? Is this some ploy to find out her little quirks to make fun of her?
She scribbled over the chalkboard and threw it across the room. It gently bumped against her mirror and she frowned. Her lights flashed as if they were fizzing and she shook herself.
Stupid.
They just mean well.
There was a knock on her door. It must be them! didn't they invite her somewhere? yes. That's what she had been getting ready for.
She answered it and found she was correct. "Oh, hi!" She greeted, trying to pretend she hadn't been preparing just to talk to them. She looked at the basket they were holding. A picnic. Okay. "Are you ready to go?" They asked. She looked around her disfigured room before nodding.
-
They found on area where there was no seaweed and sat down, chatting about anything they hadn't yet. "You know when, like, the world is all blurry and stuff?" She mumbled. They looked off to the side in confusion and then back at her. "It what?" They responded. She put a hand over her eye. "Y-Y'know..?" She shrugged. "When you can't really see..?" They shook their head. "You mean your vision is bad? I don't have that." They replied. She pouted. "What's your favorite food?" She questioned, picking at her fish. "Probably crab, though i don't really try new foods." They looked up, shifting to that funny look for a second. "You?"
They hate her. They pity her! that's why they're hanging out with her!
She though for a moment before replying. "..I just like fish." She blinked at them and they laughed. She smiled and laughed a bit too.

"That's all? A shark attack and you act so.." coiny paused. "Angry?" He decided, looking over at the leaf. "You asked why i was missing a chunk of my head." She put a hand to the tear in her. "I answered. That's not my entire life story." She hissed, rolling her eyes. "Alright.." He stared out at the ocean. There would be an occasional ripple in the water from a small fish, though the water seemed more still than usual.
Quiet?
"Do you miss the people down there?" the coin creature asked her. She shook her head. "I don't miss the rules. I don't miss the people there who hated me." She replied sourly, throwing sand into the water. "What about you?" They didn't look at each other. She kept her eyes on the ground and he had his on the sea. "I only had about one friend, so i'm fine." He responded. "You miss him, though?" The leaf flicked him with her tail. He nodded. "Sure." He sat up. "Maybe i'd miss him less if you let me talk to people..?" He looked at her a batted his eyes. "No." She immediately responded. She paused.
"Maybe."
---
She scrolled on her phone aimlessly, some how only finding things uninteresting to her. She pause, looking at the blank screen as a hyper voice talked so quickly it was hard to understand. A video diary? Why's the screen black..
She shrugged it off and kept walking, letting the noise continue playing. Even if she only understood half the words it would be good enough.
She glanced at the people beside her and they walked a bit faster. She sighed. What must a lady do to make people like her.
"But match told me i can only eat a limited amount of sugar now because i'll accidentally hurt someone if i have more." A gem whine to bubble. Same voice as in the video. She paused her phone and listened. The girl was talking a bit slower so she could understand more. "Now i can only get like, one item at the bakery a day!" She cried. A bakery? she walked over to the two of them.
