Leafy sat in the middle of the ground, her rock in her lapwhile she poked the grass. "..I don't see how this is fun.." Firey said, holding his slice of cake while pin stared at her own. "It's not really.." theleaf mumbled. "I'm bored..." She whined.

They were barely even friends with coiny, but it wasupsetting they couldn't talk to him anymore. He may be stupid, but he was fun to hang out with.

"Why's that rock so important?" Firey asked, pointing at thestone. The shark stared at it for a moment before responding, "It calms medown, I guess..?" She shrugged. She looked up, noticing two people. The first one she recognized from when teardrop found ice cube. She didn't know the other.

Pin glared at the gemstone who was happily skipping with the bug, stabbing her fork into her cake.

So, it's a freesmarter.

---

Liy pinned the smaller shark to ground, spear pointed directly at her visible eye. "Your vision may be impaired but that does not excuse missing every shot." The light switch told her sharply. "Well, I don't want to hurt you.." Book replied as the catshark helped her up. "I'll be fine!" The older girl hummed.

"You don't seem to have any problem hurting me.." The novel muttered under her breath.

"What was that?" Liy asked sweetly. "Nothing." The kitefin rolled her eyes. "I only hurt you once, grow up." She reminded her. Book nodded, putting her hand over her concealed eye. "I don't see why you cover it.."The light switch mumbled. "Isn't this supposed to be secret?" She replied."People are going to wonder where a random scar came from."

Liy took book's spear, putting her own away on her back. "Youdid worse than usual." She snapped. "Maybe that ice cube is turning you soft.Or price tag." She proposed before swimming off to put the other girl's spearaway.

Book thought for a moment. She didn't do all too well, but it wasn't one of her friends dragging her down. Maybe it's taco's fault. She gripped the cut on her shoulder, which Liy probably hadn't noticed.

---

"So, she owns an extra spear, big deal!" Gelatin groaned. Teardrop glared at his unserious manner. The droplet could definitely be scarier than Liy, he didn't understand why he wasn't allowed to talk to her anymore.

'It's not hers.' TD signed. 'Anytime I ask about it she says it's for safe keeping but it's occasionally not there.' She explains. 'Why on earth would she carry two spears?' Gelatin shrugged. "So, someone else has a spear, why's that such a big deal?" Lollipop asked.

Teardrop didn't reply, running through everyone she knew inher head for which one of them Liy would give a spear.

The stingray frowned. He always hated silence. "Well, um,books been acting strange lately..?" He mentioned. Lollipop shot him a look, clearly about to tell him to shut up, but TD looked curious. 'Well, since icy left, right?' The dessert nodded. "She gets really attached to people, right?Must've just been sad her friend would leave her." Lolli figured, waving her hand dismissively. "You just want to brush over the fact she attacked yougirlfriend?" The boy reminded her. "First of all, she's not my girlfriend, second of all, I'm not brushing over it." The candy snapped. "I'm just saying Liy has nothing to do with it."

---

Pin had briefly explained how freesmart was awful and toxic, but this sparkly girl was just happily walking around with flower, chatting about something random. Obviously, this member of freesmart must be nicer and the rest are still terrible.

"Hey pin!" She called. The thumbtack looked at her. "She's amember of freesmart, what'd she do?" She asked happily. "Shrunk me down, reducing me to essentially an inanimate object." She replied sourly. "I was only like that for one episode, but I was without limbs for a while." She added, rolling her eyes. "oh.." Leafy mumbled.

---

The novel sat on the bed, kicking her legs slightly as taco bandaged her shoulder. She didn't like going to taco about her injuries, butshe didn't want her real friends to see her hurt. "How did you get hurt this time, journal?" The food asked as she finished treating the cut. "Piece of coral." Book replied shortly.

It was a lame excuse, and her most used one, but she didn'twant taco worrying about her, even if she didn't like her.

The lanternfish lifted the bookmark off the shark's face. She flinched away from her, covering her injured eye with her hand. "I think it looks cool, you shouldn't cover it." Taco said. "You cover yours.." Book hissed. The other fish gave a small look of hurt at the reminder of her missing eye. "That's different." She replied. The dictionary raised an eyebrow. "How?" She asked. "Well,it's..." She paused, thinking of a response. "..Oh! I got mine from someone else, yours is just from you being clumsy!"

Clumsy. That's what the assumption was. It makes sense taco thought she was clumsy; she always said her injuries were from little accidents. Ran into a rock. Accidentally swam to close to the seafloor. The fact she always had bad vision did make it easy for her to say her injuries weren't big deals.

She didn't ever want to tell anyone about the Liy stuff. Liy had told her not to, in fact. She assumed it was because she didn't want her off bragging about how she was the favorite. Liy was helping her. Pointing out who would be good friends or who she should avoid. How to defend herself.

"..yeah." She replied bitterly. "Yeah?" The other girl repeated. "You sounded very unsure of that." She laughed. "I think I'm justtired.." The book sighed, standing up. "And sick of you." She added. Needed to remind her they were not friends and she didn't like her. Not one bit.

---

Teardrop grabbed the spear. 'It's definitely not Liy's, she never leaves hers.' She told them, holding out the spear. Gelatin stared at it blankly. "It looks the exact same." He said dismissively. "It's a differentcolor." Lolli pointed out. "No, it's not." The dessert responded. "And it's clearly less used." The anglerfish added. "..How can you tell?" He questioned."I have good eyes." She shrugged. "That's rich coming from the person who can't see if there isn't light directly in her eye." The stingray scoffed. The candy smacked him with her tail. "I just don't like using my own!" She snapped. TD rolled her eyes, jabbing the unfamiliar spear between the two before they started fighting.

'I trust lollipop. If she says it's different, it'sdifferent.' She signed, going back to examining the spear. "So, our first suspect is book?" Gelatin asked. "I doubt it." Lollipop replied. "Liy seems to actually like her, I doubt she'd make that bitchfight." She explained. The catshark put down the spear. 'Taco?' She suggested. Lolli glared at her."Absolutely not."

Teardrop's antenna twitched. She grabbed the two hurrying them out of there.

"Ugh, no need to shove me." The boy grumbled, rubbing his wrist. 'Liy was coming.' She informed him. "Taco does seem like a possibility.." Gelatin said. "She kind of just.. disappears sometimes?" Thefish rolled her eyes. "I'm sure why ever she wander's off is not to be Liy's favorite child."
