12:01 pm

"Hey guys, you want to join me at the gym?" I asked as I stood next to the three girls that were already at the table. They all looked at me with a confused face, I usually didn't hang out at the gym.

"What's the occasion?" Jihyun asked back, suspicious as to why I wanted to go to the gym out of nowhere.

"Sunghoon asked me to join his team for the volleyball rally-" I was cut off by Jihyun springing up from her seat.

"YOU SAID YES, RIGHT?" she was staring intently at me, at this rate if I didn't answer with a 'yes' she would burn holes through me.

"Calm down miss, I did say yes and he wants me to join for practice at lunch," I explained to the three, Jihyun sighing in relief as she started hurriedly collecting her belongings.

Mia started doing the same as Zoe picked up her lunch, waiting next to me for the other two as they repacked their lunch to take with them.

"So, you know how to play volleyball?" Mia asked me, her words were muffled by the oranges she had stuffed in her mouth before leaving the cafeteria.

"You gotta be joking," I replied, looking at her with questioning eyes. Was this supposed to be a sarcastic joke because I haven't played volleyball in three years?

"Why would I be joking? You need to know the basics to join," she said, hurriedly chewing on her oranges.

I just stared at her in disbelief, shaking my head as I faced forwards again. This girl has to get her head checked. She can remember all those embarrassing moments, but she can't remember that I played volleyball back in middle school and was captain during the last year?

"Are you sure you don't have some memory problems? I played volleyball my whole middle school years," I answered, eyebrows raised as I side eyed her.

"OH SHIT, RIGHT, HOW'D I FORGET," Mia yelled, that too right in my ear.

I playfully rolled my eyes at her comment and walked into the gym. There were a few people there, some to watch, some to play. Sunghoon's group of friends were on the benches, dressed in their PE uniforms as they waited for us.

I hurriedly made my way behind Sunghoon, who was facing away from us as he discussed something with his friends. I motioned his friends to be quiet, sneaking right behind him before scaring him.

He didn't even flinch, my plan was wasted. I threw my hands in the air as I scrunch my face. Sunghoon just turned around as he smiled at me.

"Won't work, princess, why don't you get changed first?" he softly said ruffling my hair as he took my bag from me.

I glared at the back of his head as the rest snickered at the scene. Grabbing my clothes I rushed into the girl's bathroom, entering a stall before changing into a black shirt and black sports shorts.

I checked myself in the bathroom mirror, tying my hair back and dusting my shirt before heading back out. The boys were already on the court playing around as they warmed up. The girls were on the benches nearby, eating their lunches as they watched the boys warm up. Sunoo and Riki were joining us for practice.

I walked over and grabbed a volleyball before joining them. Jake was setting the ball as Heeseung jumped up to spike it. My eyes widened at the strength of the spike, I'd rather die than have to receive that. I've played volleyball, but not against a seventeen year old male who works out too.

"Aera's here now, let's divide the teams," Jungwon said as we stood closely to each other.

Jake and Sunoo were playing setters, Riki and Heeseung were spikers, Jungwon, Jay, Sunghoon, and I were defending. We were divided into teams, the first being made up of Jake, Heeseung, Jungwon, and Jay while the rest were formed into another team.

It would be a lie if I said I wasn't scared, having to play against tall and strong ass guys was scary. I hope I'm not knocked out today, getting hit by a spiked ball by a twelve year old girl hurt, nevermind a nearly full grown male.

"Don't stress, Aera," Sunoo said when he saw me tense up. I simply nodded at him as I took my spot on the court.

Seeing that we were about to play a game, more students were taking their seats on the benches, waiting for us to start.

"You got this, princess," Sunghoon whispered to me as he made his way to his designated area. The simple white shirt and black sports shorts looked nice on him as well. With his proportions and face card, everything would look perfect on him.

There was a guy sitting by the scoreboard, he had volunteered to do it for us earlier. The two setters played rock, paper, scissors and the first serve was given to the other side.

Jungwon took the volleyball from Jake, bouncing it a few times before throwing it to serve it. It flew over at a fast pace at Sunghoon, though he received it effortlessly as Sunoo rushed to set it. The set was nice and Riki managed to hit it over.

Needless to say, it was very competitive, and scary if I must add, Heeseung's spike hit my shoulder and it's probably going to be bruised later. Our side did lose by a few points, the game ending in a 25:22.

I plopped down next to Jihyun and gulped down my water, sweat dripping off my face.

"I need to change," I said as I wiped my sweat off my forehead.

"Good game Aera!" Jungwon said as he grabbed his water as well. The others greeted me as well as I nodded and thanked them.

"I'm going to change," I told the girls and Sunghoon who was also nearby.

I rushed into the bathroom and changed, thinking about the small game today. I had a great team ready for Friday and we were going to win for sure.
