Divine Odyssey: Book one

Part 7

"Pinetree!" Scorpion said, reaching forward. "What's happened?"

Finely dropped the atlas and rushed forward. Eden and Cornid followed while Elliott searched through his bag to find a screwdriver or something similar. Delphine stood in the corner because Koi shooed her when she tried to walk over. "I'll never take you for granted again, Pinetree," Frost said, sobbing loudly. Frost was dramatic and sensitive most of the time, even though he was shy. Poptart looked at her cunfosed, but thn grabbed her axe and banged Pinetree on the side. It sounded like the blade was hitting metal.

Koi rushed over and inspected him. "Finley," Koi said nervously. "You're smart. What's happening?"

"Pinetree..." Finley said slowly with his eyes closed while feeling the metal. "Pinetree...." His eyes opened wide. "Forest Factory! Pinetree is a robot made in Forest Factory! I've met an elf like him named Birchwood and...." Finley turned Pinetree to lay on his stomach. Pinetree's neck had a little plaque that read, "Forest Factory." On the back.

They all turned towards Finley as he tried to disassemble the screws so that Pinetree would wake up again.

"Stop," A voice from the forest said.

"Who was that?" koi said, ready to attack. Scorpion pushed Koi back. "I can handle this, kid,"

"COULD EVERYONE STOP CALLING ME KID?!" Koi cried.

Scorpion shook the bush a little, and a growl emerged. Eden was so afraid that she accidentally jumped backward, stumbling into Scorpion and grabbing his waist to stabilize herself.

He turned around to look at her for a second and she frowned. "Don't let this make you think I like you," Eden said, letting go. Scorpion smiled and rolled his eyes. "Whatever you say, cactus brains."

Scorpion reached through the bush and pulled out a grey wolf,snapping and snarling with eyes as yellow as the sun. "There you go, little guy," Scorpion said, putting him down. Suddenly, the wolf turned into a short girl, with dark skin and burnt orange hair. She held her stomach and writhed in pain on the ground. "Go away!" She cried.

"I'm good with medicine," Finley said, reaching to his bag. Let me help." Koi pushed past FInlety and walkef over to the girl. He slowly reached out his hands to hover above the girl. The wounds faded like normal, and the girl streched her arms toward Koi's and he helped her up.

"Wow," Finley said, putting his medicine back into his bag. "I had no idea you could do that." Koi looked at him. "Do you not remember the first day we met?" "Of course I do-" Finley started.

"S-Stop," the girl said. "Go. Now,"

"What?" Frost said, but it was too late. A parade of wolves jumped out at them, teeth bared and claws flexed out. The shot down at the travelers like rain falling from the sky.

"Take cover!" Scorpion shouted. He grabbed Eden and shoved her to the ground. To keep her there, his arm was around her back as they tried to shield themselves from the wolves.

"What the-?!" Eden cried, trying to push away.

"Sorry!" Scorpion said. "But Flyerwolves hate the ground. They won't touch it for anything."

"Thanks, I guess," Eden said irritatedly.

Either way, Eden got up and left his grasp. "I wouldn't do that if I were you," Scorpion said. Eden stumbled into the rain of wolves. She stuck her tongue out at Scorpianhim. Then, a wolf landed on top of her and she hit the ground with a thud. "EDEN!" Scorpion cried, tears in the corners of his eyes. He sprinted over to her and shoved the wolf off. He tried to shake her awake. "Eden!" He cried, tears rolling down his cheeks.
