"Hi Mrs Moon" Hayoon timidly said, bowing down multiple times. The woman inspected the Jang girl with a perked eyebrow.
"Jayoon..what brings you here?" she inquired, her piercing gaze acting as laser beams. Hayoon furrowed her eyebrows slightly at the name she was being referred to but ignored it, not wanting to anger the lady.
"Hayoon!" the dark brown haired girl called her friend's name as she rushed towards her, capturing her in a tight hug. Their embrace slowly broke apart once Sooyun could feel her mother glowering at the two. She turned around, coming to face the woman.
"Remember I told you..Hayoon is coming over to study..?" the Moon girl raised her eyebrows as she leaned her face forward and attempted to rejog her mother's memory.
"At this time?" Mrs Moon asked, a hint of suspicion in her tone.
"She's been volunteering at church all day so this is the only free time she's had" Sooyun replied, smoothly lying and impressing her best friend. She had to make Hayoon sound like a good person, or at least good in her mother's eyes.
"Oh..well come in then" the mother's tone was anything but welcoming, however the girl was over the moon to even be accepted in.
Desperately wanting to escape the awkward atmosphere, the two girls quickly ran up the stairs and into the Moon girl's bedroom. As they came to a stop, Sooyun broke into a giggle as Hayoon grabbed her chest and widened her eyes.
"Oh my god that was terrifying" she spoke out, adding a huff at the end of her remark. "Since when were you such a good liar?"
"I've been practicing the same sentence over and over since last night" responded Sooyun, receiving an understanding nod from the other girl.
Sooyun glanced at the Jang girl's chunky bag, tilting her head in lack of understanding.
"Are you taking me hiking or something?" she asked, scoffing and trying to figure out what was causing the bag to be so heavy. "What's in the bag?"
"Oh right" Hayoon slipped the bag off her shoulders, instantly feeling lighter and opening the zip. She took out 2 dresses, a makeup bag and a straightener.
"Hayoon" Sooyun called out cautiously, "where exactly are we going?"
"You know who Nishimura Riki is right?" Hayoon asked casually, causing the other girl to mentally roll her eyes. She knew better than anyone when her friend was trying to sway from the topic. Her eyes flickered across the items before she responded, "uh.."
Hayoon noticed her friend's confusion and corrected herself. "Ni-ki? The Japanese kid?"
The once puzzled girl clicked her fingers when she figured out who the Jang girl was talking about.
"Yeah yeah..what about him?"
Sooyun still couldn't form how he was relevant to the conversation.
"He's throwing a party" continued Hayoon.
Their eyes locked, one's with a glint of mischief and the other perplexed.
"..good for him?" The Moon girl said, her statement coming out like a question.
Hayoon groaned hitting her best friend gently.
"Nooo. We are going to the party"
Sooyun's expression molded into becoming the face right before someone turns you down.
"Are you mental? I can't go to a party. What if-"
The expecting girl immediately cut her off."Sooyun. Listen to me. You are 17 years old and half way through your last year at high school. You have never been to a party. Do you see how those 2 sentences clash?" she questioned, almost as if she was talking to a toddler.
"But-"
Again the Jang girl cut her off."No buts. We're going. Period"
Hayoon's firm tone halted the Moon girl from arguing any further even though she knew deep down how horrible tonight would be. But she also couldn't handle disappointing her best friend any more than she had done prior so she sucked it up and allowed the girl to rant on about what they were gonna wear. She only really connected back to reality once 2 awfully short dresses were held out in front of her.
"Pick" ushered the excited girl behind her.
Sooyun looked left and right, trying to see which one was even a millimetre longer before pointing to the light blue denim dress on the left with a 2 buckles on it. (ifykyk)
"Ooo good choice" Hayoon nodded approvingly, passing the dress to the unsure girl.
Once the 2 girls had changed, applied makeup and straightened/ curled their hair, they stood in the Moon girl's long mirror.
All Sooyun could see was how revealing the dress was, how prominent her collarbones looked, how much of her legs you could see. When her eyes landed on her best friend, she could only see beauty.
"We look SO good Sooyun" she commented, which lead to a hesitant nod by the girl next to her. Grabbing their handbags, the two girls snuck out of the house, got in Hayoon's car and set off for what would be one of the craziest nights Sooyun had ever had.
