Sunoo's eyes were fixed on Sunghoon, who sat comfortably across from him, his damp skin glowing under the soft bedroom light, beads of water still clinging to his freshly showered body.

The scent of calming body wash filled the air soothingly, yet it did little to ease the tension creeping up his spine. Sunghoon's bare torso was an undeniable sight—lean muscle and smooth skin stretched taut, his broad shoulders glistening as he leaned back slightly, the towel draped lazily over his waist.

But Sunoo, perched nervously on the edge of the bed while feeling anything but calm. His body felt stiff, unnatural in the presence of the person who was supposed to comfort him most. He swallowed thickly, his throat still parched from the remnants of the nightmare that had woken him in a cold sweat.

He reached for the glass of water on the nightstand but before his fingers could graze the cool surface, Sunghoon's hand intercepted grabbing it first.

The light brush of their skin as Sunghoon handed him the glass sent an unexpected jolt through Sunoo's body. His heart stuttered in his chest, the simple touch feeling foreign and even strange.

He accepted the water though his hand trembled slightly while raising the glass to his lips as he gulped down the contents a little too quickly. The liquid rushed down his dry throat and still it didn't soothe the unease swirling inside him.

"Why do I feel like this?" Sunoo thought to himself, the sensation churned in him. The nightmare still clung to him so vividly and confusing. Who was the man in his dream, the one who had saved him? Was it Sunghoon, his boyfriend and his lover for years now. It should have been him, right? Then why couldn't he recognize the face in his own nightmare? And why did that bother him so much?

Sunoo placed the empty glass back on the table, he lowered his gaze to his lap, his fingers twisting together in a nervous knot. The silence between him and his boyfriend felt heavy and it was Sunoo who broke it first, to make it less awkward.

"Did you just take a bath?" His words were simple yet they trembled with uncertainty, as though asking Sunghoon this normal question felt wrong somehow.

Sunghoon shifted beside him, the slight movement making Sunoo flinch involuntarily. The reaction was instant, his muscles tightening before he could control it. He felt ridiculous—he shouldn't be reacting like this. Not to Sunghoon.

This was Sunghoon, the man who loved him, who held him every night gently. So why did he feel this sudden sense of discomfort?

Sunghoon either didn't notice Sunoo's reaction or he chose to ignore it as his deep voice cut through the quietness of night, calmly and reassuringly.

"Nightmare again?" Sunghoon's tone was knowing, as if he had already guessed the answer. His arms opened wide offering an embrace that Sunoo would have usually found solace in, he always did, so what about tonight?
