Why am I doing this?
Sunoo's thoughts buzzed as he scrubbed a dish, watching the soapy water swirl down the drain. He occasionally glanced toward the living room where Sunghoon was getting ready for work.
The tall composed figure of his boyfriend stood near the mirror, fingers skillfully knotting his tie with the precision Sunoo had always admired. Sunghoon's movements were swift and confident-qualities that always left Sunoo in silent awe.
Sunoo's lips curled into a soft smile. There was something intimate about these morning routines. Sunghoon adjusting his tie, the quiet rustle of his clothes, the light clinking of the dishes as Sunoo worked-everything about it felt like home. But particularly today amidst the familiarity, a question had crept into Sunoo's mind unsettled him as it lingered in the back of his thoughts.
Should I ask him?
His brows furrowed as he washed another plate, his hands moving almost mechanically while his mind wandered.
It wasn't that big of a deal, was it? It's just a question.
He reasoned with himself, yet a flicker of doubt lingered. What if Sunghoon misunderstood? Would he think Sunoo was being nosy or worse-suspicious?
But no, that wasn't it at all. Sunoo wasn't suspicious of Sunghoon. He trusted him completely. It was just curiosity.
His curiosity had started a few days ago, the day he had accidentally stumbled upon a bunch of memory cards tucked away in his boyfriends closet while cleaning.
His boyfriend had always been sentimental in his own way, often recording little moments of their lives together-birthdays, quiet nights at home, playful teasing on the weekends-but Sunoo realized he had never actually asked about where those videos went after they were taken. And now the more he is thinking about it, the more he wanted to see them.
What if there are moments I've forgotten?
Sunoo thought wistfully, his heart warming at the idea of revisiting their happiest days together. He could imagine Sunghoon's quiet laughter in the background of the videos, the candid smiles they shared, the subtle glances towards eachother. It was like peeking into a time capsule of their relationship and Sunoo wanted that.
But then, some doubt crept in again.
Would he think I'm prying?
Sunoo chewed on his lower lip nervously. Sunghoon wasn't exactly secretive but he was private in his own way. What if asking him made it seem like Sunoo didn't trust him?
He dried his hands on a towel, the soft cotton rubbing against his skin as he mulled over his thoughts.
No, I should ask. It's not like I'm accusing him of anything. I just want to see those memories.
