The shadows from the ethereal moonlight outside danced and flickered across the walls of a room, while the digital clock on the nightstand blinked a harsh, piercing red "4:13 AM", the only source of light breaking through the oppressive darkness that enveloped everything.

A thick, suffocating silence hung in the air, punctured only by the soft, ominous hum of the air conditioner and the occasional rustle of the curtains as a chilling, foreboding breeze slipped through the slightly ajar window.

Sunoo lay frozen in bed, his peaceful, serene facade now marred by a growing, tangible tension radiating through his body.

"It's just a little punishment for you."

A sinister, disembodied voice suddenly whispered, the words dripping with malice and a twisted sense of power.

"Liar." Sunoo's breathing immediately became erratic, short, panicked gasps punctuating the stillness as a wave of dread and terror washed over him.

"I have still kept them."

The distorted voice continued, his fingers clenched the sheets in a desperate white-knuckled grip.

"I'm scared please stop." Sunoo begged twisting and contorting the fabric as his legs kicked out violently, tangling helplessly in the constraining material.

"You should have listened to your friend."

"You are not caged, you caged yourself." the voice taunted continuously, the each word like a knife twisted deeper into Sunoo's psyche.

A low, anguished moan escaped Sunoo's trembling lips that quickly escalated into a series of frantic half-choked cries piercing through the oppressive silence, tinged with unbridled fear and the realization that there was no escape from this living nightmare.

"You should have run away-" the voice screamed into his ear, the words piercing through Sunoo's mind like a sharp dagger. He gasped loudly, his body jerking back up as he sat upright on his bed, his eyes wide open in sheer terror.

Sunoo grappled onto the sheets, his palms clammy with cold sweat that ran down from his forehead to his neck, he panted heavily while looking around the darkness of his room, his heart pounded in his chest.

"Again the same nightmare." he thought, gulping hard to moisten his dry, parched throat.

This was a scene all too familiar to him - the same terrifying dream that had been plaguing him for the past six years. It had all started before his graduation, as if a chunk of his memory had been wiped clean.
