Keefe let out a low whistle as he and Tam walked alongside each other in this quite old-fashioned looking town.
"Man, these people have a really strange way of speaking." Keefe said, wrapping his arm around Tam's shoulder. "I mean, have you heard their accents-?"
Keefe looked over at Tam and saw how he kept looking around. Keefe felt the worry radiating off from him.

Keefe squeezed Tam's shoulder.
"Hey, you okay?" Keefe asked, his tone of voice soft and full of concern.
Tam swallowed and he managed to smile as he looked over at Keefe.
"Yeah...yeah, just... I don't know, something feels weird." Tam said, shrugging slightly.

"Weird?" Keefe furrowed his eyebrows, following Tam's gaze as he glanced around again.

Tam's gaze finally slowed as he stopped dead in his tracks, Keefe almost tripping over as he suddenly stopped. Keefe looked at Tam, about to question him but he saw how Tam was staring further up ahead. Keefe couldn't decipher Tam's emotions. Keefe looked to where Tam was staring and he noticed two figures up ahead, two women.

The women were facing a small cafe-looking shop where they were chatting quite passionately about something. Once they felt the eyes of the two elves on them, they stopped, turning to face them. Now that the two women were facing Keefe, he could see them much better, with them both having fair and pale skin, being relatively tall, though the brunette was slightly taller than the caramelly-blonde one, and both had pointed ears that had piercings.

Keefe shook his head. Humans could have pointed ears as well as ancient elves. Tam kept staring at them as they exchanged a glance.

"They're elves." Tam stated, still staring at the pair.

"What?" Keefe blinked, looking at Tam now. "Tam, that's crazy. Elves aren't allowed to be-"

"You two."

Keefe and Tam started in surprise, one of the women beckoning them closer. She jerked her head at the cafe looking place.

"Come on, let's have a chat."

Keefe and Tam glanced at each other.

"Are we really gonna do this? Weren't we taught that talking to strangers is, like, dangerous?" Keefe questioned as Tam took a step forward. Tam shrugged.

"What's the worst they could do? If they are elves, then they can't fight, and if you really think that they are humans, then what could they do to us, considering our abilities?" Tam glanced back at Keefe. Keefe stayed silent for a moment and Tam decided to go ahead and walk off.
Keefe grumbled as he slowly followed behind.

"They could always drug us." Keefe mumbled.

"They aren't with the Neverseen though? Wouldn't you recognise them?" Tam asked as Keefe trailed behind him. Keefe crossed his arms.

"Erm, I thought I told you how my mother kept me hidden away? I literally don't know any other members, other than Rayni. Even when I met someone new, they always hid their face, so I could never recognise someone from the Neverseen out in public." Keefe responded.

"Oh." Tam went quiet, quickening his pace to catch up with the pair of women, who were now inside the cafe.

Keefe opened the door, holding it open as Tam walked in, shutting it as he followed behind. It was a dainty place, the shop. There were people sitting and talking, groups of students gossiping, work colleagues on their laptops, pointing out little details on mind maps for each other. Tams gaze was still on the two women, who were sitting together in a booth.

Tam again took the lead, slipping over to the other side of the cafe, and turned back to Keefe. Keefe stopped next to him and stared at the women, who pointed at the two spare seats. They exchanged a glance and sat down across from them.
