Chapter 16: "Vel'mair's Wrath"

The next day, after we'd spent plenty of hours meditating, we've been  informed by Loiko that we're to strike ten Vesh bases today, he immediately informed me and Amilena that we would be infiltrating and dismantling two Vesh bases each on our own which we all were pretty much capable of, especially Beda, it didn't make sense to me that she didn't get her own base to hit, she's the only one that's taken down a Vesh base all on her own with her ridiculously powerful ability, but maybe, I thought to myself, he's trying to get us to develop a bond with one another so we'd work together better.  But if that was the case, wouldn't it make sense that the two of us who'd just taken our place among the God's would be working together, even if we could take down a Vesh base on our own.  Benji was with Kazumo, Jdon with Loiko, and Danguzo with Beda.

Sensei briefly showed us each base that we would be attacking today; each of the three teams would be leaving at different times; me and Amilena were to leave right now; Benji and Kazumo would leave about five minutes after that; then Jdon and Loiko would leave ten minutes after that; and so on... Once sensei was done with his little speech, Amilena transformed into a black wolf that had red eyes; it was about six feet tall on all fours... It was the biggest wolf I'd ever seen in my eighteen years of life. I then hear Kazumo say "Damn." under his breath, and that made me smile a bit... It really was an enormous wolf. She turned her big monstrous head and looked at her chareeb, whom she'd named Flame. Flame sat down on its tiny hind legs, then it laid down on its belly. Shortly after that, Amilena ran off quicker than I thought she could, as big as she was in her current form. I took one good look at everyone else that hadn't left yet, and then I took off running in the general direction of the two Vesh bases that I was assigned to infiltrate and disable. Sensitive informed us that Coi, Coitahno Rooma, would be using all her various different connections and sources to help arm and reorganize what remained of the Vesh resistance, so we didn't have to worry about gathering every single weapon and whatever other piece of technology that we'd find at any of the Vesh bases that we would be infiltrating, since we most likely wouldn't be able to transport it all. Based on my memory of when sensei showed me the two bases, it looked about sixty miles out, give or take, and as I came to find out, I could run a lot faster than before I became a God; on the trip that would've normally taken me about two hours to complete, I did it in thirty minutes... It was a rush, a euphoric feeling, an ecstasy. I felt so much power in my body, and I felt as though I could go faster if I'd only just become a god, and since sensei was five decades old, I wondered how fast he was... At about ten to fifteen minutes into me running, I enter a more dense section of woods, and it feels different immediately. I felt a weird urge or yearning pulling me to slow down and stay, and I instantly knew this feeling had to have something to do with that voice saying I was the God of the Beast, and beast is just another fancy word for saying scary animals. Maybe I was just feeling a stronger connection to the animals in the woods and nature as well. But regardless of how strong the urge for me to stop in the woods was, I confidently continued my strong sprinting stride through the woods and came to a break in the trees, which led me to a huge open valley. Once I made my way through the valley, I'd probably been running for about half an hour and I could see the two Vesh bases. I rested for a quick minute before getting up to run closer to our destination. As I got closer and closer to the bases, I could see more and more Vesh soilders walking about, busily contributing to the evil emperor's ridiculous plan to enslave all of Kishi and its many citizens. I swear I won't let him take over Kishi, no matter if they have these unbelievable accurate and powerful weapons; nothing will stop me. They will still lose, and they will never be a problem for any other country. It is my very purpose to stop evil forces, or people like this. I then remember what sensei had told each of us right before we left, "Don't worry about being stealthy; take the base by force if you want... Just don't get killed by the inferior puppets," he said to us. So I took a good look at all the Vesh soilders walking around, and there were only about three to four vehicles driving around the two individual Vesh bases like a security detail. There it was... That all evil black eye flag dancing around, on three different metal poles, and suddenly, as I'm trying to decide how I should start my assault on the base, a Vesh soilder spots me, raises his rifle at me, and shouts, "This is a restricted area!" I put my hands up.

But as quick as I can, I unsheathe my Katana, and he shoots at me. Some type of blue lightening comes out of the barrel of his gun, and I slice through it. Then I leap forward with my Katana leaning forward in my right hand and put him to sleep...
