Sitting in my seat on the plane when l think of all that has happen. Things really do change very fast. To believe yesterday were all happy and in just 20 seconds and just 2 words everything changed for me. I sit by my window seat as the plane takes off and try to fall asleep which is something I am struggling to do.
The flight is long; I sit on my phones and delete all the photos while thinking about all that had happened. During the last few hours of the trip I try to get some sleep.
"Ladies and Gentlemen we will be landing in India shortly; please put on your seatbelts to ensure a safe landing" The Captian says which wakes me up
After landing in India I take an Uber which drops me back at the gate of my house. I take a small mirror and check if l look fine to meet my family. My eyes are very puffy but that is okay I will just say that it cause l didn't sleep.
I roll my suitcase in as the security guards open the door.
"You are finally home Manna" Rajeev says when he dances around and takes my bags inside the house.
"How are you" l say
"Manna is home" Rajeev shouts when Mama comes to the door.
I look at my mother when suddenly all my tears come down. She is wearing a red and white saree as she comes down and hugs me.
"Manna!!!" Mama screams when I rush to her
"Mama I have come home" I say
We hug each other when she kisses my head and hugs me tightly.
"My child you are finally home; Aarav Ayaan your sister is home; Maa; aapki potee ghar aa gaee hai"
My Dada comes out when I look at him and smile as tear roll down my face. He walk towards each other when he put a his hand on my head and smiles at me
"Dada your daughter has come home" I say
"Has my daughter come home permanently?" Dada says and hugs me tightly
"Well well well look who has finally come home; you really need to decide if you wish to stay in USA or India" Aarav says
We all group hug with Aarav Ayaan and Dada when he holds his hand out to Mama and we all hug each other.
"Why have you come back so early? You were supposed to return home next week" Mama asks
"Actually Mama I was missing home so I decided to leave ASAP!!" I say "l am very tired to so can l go and rest for a bit?"
"Yes I will make sure you rest" Mama says
"Where is Dadi" I ask
"Taking her vows infront of the Lord" Mama says
I walk into the house when Dadi walks to me with the veneration platter she is praying
"Don't enter the house" Dadi says when l stand at the door
She does my aarti and welcomes me into the house.
"This is not USA you don't enter my house wearing shoes; leave them outside. Kanika go and make sure her room is ready. Mohan; Tejas's daughter has come home make sure she has food to eat; she is looking very weak"
"Dadi won't you hug me?" I ask
"Not right now. I will hug you the day you decide to settle down in India and get married to a man of my choice" Dadi says
"Dadi but I'm so young; please don't push this topic any further" I ask
"Why don't you wish to get married; I have a list of suitor of which I think you and them will make a perfect couple" Dadi says
