Tori's POV
I left the house with no bags, no phone, no nothing. It's not like I had much to bring but I wanted none of it. Ashton and I drove silently in his car. Where we were going, I didn't know. I just hoped it would be better then my home. All I did was look out the window and stare. I wanted to talk to Ashton but I didn't know what to say. No way would I bring up the conversation about what had happened but that was all I could think about so I waited for him to start conversing first.
"We're going to my house. Is that okay?" he said to me but kept his eyes straight forward.
"Um, yeah. Of course. Thanks," I managed to say.
"This is awkward isn't it." He chuckled a bit but didn't move his eyes from the road.
"Ya," I replied letting out a small laugh. "I guess it is." We sat in silence for what seemed like hours until I let my mouth slip. "How far out of town do you live?! Jesus Fuck!" I covered my mouth feeling a bit rude but he just laughed.
"That was my exact thought when I first moved here. We live like twenty minutes out of town," he replied still laughing.
"When did you move here?"
"About a year and a half ago."
"Where did you move from." Before he could answer we pulled into a short driveway in front of a very large house.
"We're here!" he said parking and taking the key out of the ignition. "Come on in." We got out of the care and walked up to his door. Ashton tried to open it but it was locked. "God damnit."
"What? Don't you have a key?" I asked.
"Well yeah but it's inside." He sighed and knocked on the door. I heard the shuffling of footsteps and a muffled 'I'm coming' before the door opened to reveal a very tall blonde women.
"Ash, did you forget your key again," she said not seeming to notice me.
"Ya but I thought-"
"Oh! Who is this lovely young woman?" she exclaimed cutting of Ash and smiling at me. Ashton just smiled and laughed.
"This would be Tori," he replied gesturing to me.
"Tori! It's so nice to meet you! I'm Jo." I nodded at her and we stood there for a minute as she just smiled. I awkwardly shifted on my feet when she threw her hands up in the air and said, "Oh! Come in! Sorry just spacing out a bit!!" Ashton and I both laughed as his mom moved and we walked in, greeted by cool air. Jo shut the door behind us and followed us as we headed into Ashton's living room. "So, Tori, tell me about yourself," she said as we took a seat.
"Well, uh... I'm obviously Tori. I like to sing and play violin. Um, that's pretty much it," I replied nervously laughing.
"Oh there has to be more! Tell me about your family!" The mention of family startled me. I didn't have any family technically. I looked at Ash and his eyes were wide as he looked back at me.
"Oh, well, uh. My family? Well-"
"That's kinda what I brought her here about," Ashton said, thankfully interrupting me. Jo gave both me and Ashton weird looks and then motioned for him to go on. "Well, you see, Tori doesn't technically have any family."
"What do you mean? Who does she live with?"
"Well she lived with her mom until today."
"Did you runaway?" Jo asked looking me in the eye. I quickly shook my head no.
"She kicked me out."
"What! Why?!"
"Well... she's kinda sorta..." I looked up at Ashton and then to Jo both sets of eyes were on me. "My mom is an alcoholic and drug addict." Jo gasped and buried my face in my hands. Ash scooted closer and wrapped his arms around me.
"Oh my gosh!" Jo exclaimed. "Hun, I'm so sorry. Where are you gonna go?"
"I don't know," I whispered in my hands.
"I was gonna ask if she could stay here," Ashton said. My head shot up and I looked at him. I didn't know about this. I immediately turned towards Jo and she looked just about as shocked as I felt. She didn't keep that expression for long, though. It almost immediately turned into the look of a sympathetic mother.
"Of course she can stay here! I would be honored to help her in anyway," Jo said smiling. She walked over to me and sat to my left. Taking my hands into hers she looked me right in the eye and said, "You are welcome here as long as you need. Maybe forever but I don't care. As long as you never go back to your mother treating you like that. I will be your mother if you need. I will buy you all new clothes I will love you like my own. This will be your new home." She gave me the warmest smile I have ever received and I couldn't help but let the tears flow. I smiled back and she pulled me to her chest, embracing me in a hug. I mumbled lots of thank you's into her shoulder until we pulled apart. I looked over at Ashton and he was smiling with something that might have been pride. "You can stay in Ashton's room tonight until I get you a room. Sound good?" I nodded and smiled.
"Again, thank you so much. This is more than I could ever ask for," I said.
"It's no big deal. I'm used to taking that are in need into my home. Plus, I've never had a daughter!" Jo exclaimed. "Now off to bed you too!" Ashton and I stood up and I followed him down the stairs into what I thought was a basement.
"This is my room," he said gesturing to the huge room we had just entered.
"Wow it's awesome." His room had many band posters hung up everywhere. There was also a drum set in the corner, a TV, dresser, and bed. Not much but it felt homey.
"Thank you. You can either sleep on the floor or my bed with me..." Ash looked down while saying the last part but I could still see his slight blush. He looked adorable when he was nervous.
"Um I don't care. You choose." Of course I wanted to be in the bed with him but what if he didn't?
"Well I guess you should sleep on the bed. I want you to be comfortable," he said blushing again. "I guess your gonna need something to sleep in." I looked down at my outfit. Skinny jeans and a sweatshirt, not very comfortable.
"Yes that would be nice." I get to sleep in Ashton Irwin's clothes was the first thought that came to my head. He walked over to his dresser and grabbed out a big T-shirt, handing it to me.
"You can sleep in that or I can try to dig out some sweatpants. I should probably do that, shouldn't I?" He was nervous again. He was so damn hot.
"No this is great. Again thank you." I waited for Ashton to turn around but instead he stood there awkwardly looking at me. "Can you turn around?" I asked giggling.
"Oh shit sorry!" He said turning on his heels. I slipped of my jeans first and then my shirt. I looked down at my stomach to see many fresh cuts and some old scars. I quickly slipped the shirt over my head not wanting to see the disaster I had created. I knew had to find something to harm myself soon.
"Ok I'm done," I said and Ash turned around.
"That shirt looks good on you," he said. This time it was my turn to blush. "Uh would it be weird if I slept in boxers? I usually do but I won't if your not comfortable with it."
"You don't have to be so awkward Ash," I pointed out. When I said this it seemed to lift a tension from the room. "It's your house so of course it's fine if you sleep in boxers." I plopped down on the bed. It was so soft. Ashton slipped off his jeans and then his sleeveless shirt. His body was perfect. He was perfect. I just wanted to jump on him and kiss his lips hard. What the hell am I doing I thought to myself. I shook my head and Ashton climbed into bed by me. He flipped the light switch- which was conveniently next to his bed- and we both laid down.
The first half an hour we were as far apart as possible, backs facing each other. Then Ashton snuggled up behind me, spooning me. He draped his arm over my stomach and pressed his face into my neck. I didn't know if he was awake or asleep but what I did know was I love how he felt pressed so close to me and I never wanted to move from this position.
