Lucas tries to figure out if the principal has left... He goes to open the door but notices that the principal is standing right in front of it.
He quickly shuts the door as I start to speak, but he covers my mouth with his hand.
I look at him and furrow my eyebrows, but he gestures for me to stay quiet.
He removes his hand from my mouth, and the bell rings. I glance over at Lucas.
But the principal is still out there, and we can't leave... I look at Lucas.
"What are we going to do now?"
"We're missing class."
I sigh and look away... The light in the room flickers on, and I panic, looking at Lucas. He glances at the door.
He grabs my hand, and we move further inside, hiding behind some mats. As I step back, I trip and fall into Lucas, who catches me by the waist and pins me against the wall, pressing his body against mine as he watches the door.
The door creaks open, and the principal walks in with the gym teacher. They grab a few things and leave, closing the door behind them.
I exhale in relief and look at Lucas, who finally tears his eyes away from the door and meets my gaze, realizing I had already been staring at him.
We were so close... I first look at one of his eyes, then the other. He looks at my eyes and then down at my lips.
My heart begins to race, and I freeze. I can't move, I can't push him away, nothing... And there I go, back to being the old Emma again.
He leans in closer, our lips barely touching. I rise onto my tiptoes and kiss him, placing my hands on his cheeks.
Gradually, his cheeks heat up, along with his whole body. He wraps his arms around my waist, pulling me off the wall and closer to him.
My legs grow tired, so I lower my feet back down, and he bends down slightly to keep the kiss going.
After a moment, he lifts me up, and I instinctively wrap my legs around him.
"I'm going to throw out my back," he jokes, teasing me.
"Hey!" I protest.
"It's fine. I like it," he says, kissing me again, but this time slower and more tenderly.
He asks for my tongue, but I don't give it to him. He bites my bottom lip, and now he has access.
He kisses me passionately, playing his little game. I bite his lip gently, pulling it between my teeth. He sighs softly and looks at me.
"Look what you've done to me," he whispers in my ear. I push him away and slide down from his body.
I glance at him before heading towards the door. I open it slightly and peek through. The door to the gym opens, and Lydia walks in with Lia.
"Lucas is always running after Emma. He's driving me crazy, but I'll deal with her. She's not taking my man," Lydia says.
I raise an eyebrow at Lucas, who looks at me as if he's pleading to explain.
"That b****..." I mutter under my breath. "Who does she think she is?"
I glance at Lucas and laugh bitterly. Don't you dare stop me now, Lucas, or I swear, you'll be the one who gets it.
I step out of the small room and face both of them.
"Say that again," I challenge her. Lydia turns around and looks at me.
"What are you doing here?" she asks, then glances behind me, likely seeing Lucas.
She laughs and looks at the both of us.
"So, did you lose your virginity?" she sneers, laughing like a seal. Honestly, someone should lock her up in a zoo. That's where she belongs. No, wait — even the animals would be better company than her.
I slap her across the face, catching her off guard. She holds her cheek, stunned.
"Watch your mouth, you filthy skank. And don't you dare touch me again, or next time, you'll end up in a ditch," I warn her. She glances at Lucas, who looks just as surprised as she does.
Lydia reaches out to grab my arm, trying to hit me, but I grab her wrist and shove her. She stumbles and falls to the ground.
Lia looks at me, then at Lucas.
"And that goes for you too," I snap at Lia. She doesn't say a word, just kneels down to help her pathetic friend.
"Enough. Let's go," Lucas says softly, placing a hand on my shoulder.
"I made my point," I mutter, emphasizing my words as we walk towards the door.
"Running away with her again, you jerk?" Lydia calls out to Lucas.
Lucas stops, turning back to face her.
"I told you to shut up! What do you want?! Get it through your head — I'll do whatever I want! We're not together!" he yells, his voice full of anger.
"Then what is she to you? Why are you always with her?" Lydia demands, her voice breaking.
Lucas glances at me, then back at Lydia.
I step forward, standing between the two of them, face to face with the witch.
"She's what you're not," I say calmly.
Lydia looks crushed and glares at us. Lucas pulls me close, wrapping his arms around me.
"Let's go," he whispers, and we walk away
