Another day at school...
I get up.
P.E. again, damn it...
Well, I'll just wear jeans and throw my gym clothes in my bag.

I head to school, where I see Austin, Mia, and Peter.
"Good morning."

"There she is!" Austin says, hugging me.

"Good morning, Emma," Peter says, hugging me as well, followed by Mia.

"Your dumb friend didn't show up?" I ask.

"He's in class," Peter replies, and we continue talking about random things.

The bell rings, and after a bit, we head to class.
Mia sits on the inside by the wall, and I sit on the outside.
I sit down and hear Lucas laughing.

"Are you stupid or something?" I ask him, my tone sharp, and his expression changes instantly.

"No, but you'll be sitting on something colorful," he says, smiling slyly before turning to the board.

I glance at Mia—don't tell me he painted the chair. He's asking for trouble, and we haven't even started yet...

I stand up slightly so Mia can check if there's any paint on me.
"Emma, you need to change," Mia tells me, looking worried.
She knew I'd get my revenge for this.

I shoot Lucas an angry look.
Alright, Lucas, get ready...

I sit there, waiting for the bell to ring.
Lucas gets up to throw a piece of paper in the trash.
As he walks back to his seat, he starts flirting with some girl in the class.
He wasn't even looking at where he was going—he knew his chair was there.

That was my chance...
As soon as he's about to sit, I pull the chair away, and Lucas ends up on the floor in seconds.

I quickly sit back in my seat, pretending like nothing happened, so the teacher doesn't notice.
The entire class bursts out laughing, even Peter and Mia.

Lucas turns to look at me.
He's staring at me with a murderous glare, and I just smile at him.
What did you think, Lucas, that I'd let you get away with it?

The teacher ignores his outburst since everyone's laughing and assumes Lucas fell on purpose.

Eventually, the bell rings.
I grab my bag and head to the bathroom to change.

I enter the girls' bathroom and start changing.
As I step out, a hand grabs me and drags me into the boys' bathroom, locking the door behind us.

Who else could it be?
It's the infamous Lucas.

"What do you think you're doing?" I ask.

"I was going to ask you the same thing," he says, staring at me.
"Emma, you'd better stop messing with me!"

"Oh, I'm so scared," I reply sarcastically.

"What's with the sudden tough act? Since when do you think you're so tough?"

"I'll be tough when I need to be. And I'm not acting—I am tough. You still need to figure that out."

"And why do you feel the need to act tough with me of all people?"

"That's for me to know. It's none of your business!"

"It is when it involves me!"

"Guess what? I'm not telling you anything."

"Oh, alright. Tough Emma," he says, mocking me with a smirk.

He's really getting on my nerves...
"Screw you, Lucas," I say, starting to leave. But his hand grabs me, slamming me against the wall with force.
My back hurts like hell, but I don't show it.

"You'd better start talking to me with more respect!"

"Oh, right, or else what? You'll tell me you want me and kiss me again?"
Yeah, I was throwing some hints about what he'd done before.

"Missing that kiss already, huh?"

"You might be, but I'm definitely not."

"So you're saying you didn't feel anything?"

"I don't want to disappoint you, but yeah, I didn't feel a thing."

"Are you sure about that?"

"Very sure."

I don't know. I don't know if I want him to kiss me or not.
No, I haven't forgotten what his kisses felt like, and I haven't forgotten anything that's happened between us...

Everything haunts me as if it happened just yesterday.
Yes, I'm still hurting deep inside, but I won't show it.

I don't like showing that I'm struggling or suffering inside. I don't want anyone to pity me for anything.

He raises an eyebrow and stares at me.
"What, are you the one who's scared, little Lucas? Scared of how you feel?"

"I've told you not to call me that!"

"Fine. Let's change the subject," I say with a sarcastic laugh and move to leave the bathroom.

But he catches me again, pushing me against the door and pressing his lips to mine.

After all this time, I'm feeling his lips on mine again.
Those knots in my stomach are back...
But I can't show that I need his kiss. I try to push him away, but he won't let me. He keeps going.

POV Lucas

She's pushing my buttons so hard...
In the end, I close the distance between us and kiss her again, after so long...

I feel that same surge through my body, that same feeling I had when I kissed her and couldn't stop.
I feel it now, too.
The more she tries to push me away, the closer I pull her, continuing the kiss.
