Under Pressure

We've been sitting here for so long, and he hasn't given me any attention. Then I look at Lucas, write something on a piece of paper, roll it up, and throw it at the back of the teacher.

Lucas looks at me and laughs. "Just wait, we're all going to laugh now, Lucas."

The teacher picks up the paper and opens it, and after a few seconds, her gaze falls on Lucas, who is still laughing.

"Do you think this is funny, Lucas? Come with me to the principal's office to explain yourself!"

Lucas looks at me, and his expression turns serious. Let's see you laugh now, Lucas!

He stands up and goes with the teacher to the principal, leaving us to sit outside since there are only five minutes left until break.

I head out of the bathroom but see Lucas staring at me, furious. I quickly walk past him, trying to avoid him.

He pulls me forcefully into a small classroom.

"What do you think you're doing?"

"What did I do?" I reply, looking at him with sarcasm while he begins to get angry.

"Why did you throw that paper at the teacher?"

"Oops!" I respond again and leave the room, leaving him looking at me as if I'm crazy.

That's right, Lucas, don't mess with me. Don't even step into my life if you intend to hurt me.

I go outside and sit with the others, they're looking at me.

"Did something happen?" I ask them.

"What's going on with you and Lucas again? You were fine for so many days!" Mia asks.

"Well, now he's fine with Lydia," I reply, looking away.

"What do you mean?" Peter says, glancing at me. "Where is he?"

"Probably inside. I don't know, and I don't care," I respond, and Peter gets up to go find Lucas.

"What's going on now?" Mia whispers to me discreetly.

"Lucas has started seeing Lydia again. When I was behind them earlier, after Lia left, Lucas came in. She hugged him and kissed him."

"What did he do? Didn't he resist?"

"I didn't see anything, I left afterward," I reply, lowering my head.

Mia looks at me and sighs, giving me a hug.

We see Lucas and Peter walking toward us.

Lucas looks at me. No, not here, I know he'll want to say something.

"Emma, can we talk for a moment?"

"No," I answer coldly and ignore him.

He looks at me and exhales. What the hell do you want to say to me now?

"Emma, go talk for a minute," Peter says, and I look at him just as the bell rings.

"I said no," I say loudly and stand up to head back to class.

I wish I could kill myself for having to sit with him, but it's not like Mia can sit with Peter either.

I sit quietly at my desk and pull out my phone. Then all the kids start coming into the classroom one by one, including him.

He sits down and looks at me. "What did I do that you're giving me the silent treatment again?"

"Leave me alone, Lucas," I reply, looking away.

"No, not until you tell me what I did. What happened?"

"What don't you understand about 'I don't want to talk'?"

"What did I do?" he asks, looking serious.

"I've had enough," I say and ignore him, staring straight ahead.

Finally, the class is over. I leave the classroom, and the gym teacher asks me if I can close a door in the classroom because she left it open. I go to walk back in.

As I enter the gym, in seconds, my whole body is soaked with water.

I turn around and see Lucas laughing, I glare at him angrily. Right in front of me is the powder chalk. I grab it, open it, and throw it all over him.

I smile with satisfaction, looking at him as he stands frozen, not expecting it.

"WHAT DID YOU JUST DO?!"

"I THINK YOU SAW IT."

"I'LL KILL YOU."

"COME ON, GO AHEAD! WHAT DO YOU THINK, AM I SCARED OF YOU?!"

I reply, provoking him.

Peter and Mia come over, looking and laughing at us. Lucas and I shoot them deadly glares, and they stop.

"Come on, guys, it's one after the other! Can you not fight for once?" Mia says, looking at us.

"Sorry, but this time I didn't do anything, he started it!" I say, and Lucas gives me a murderous look.

"I wouldn't have done anything if you hadn't thrown that paper at the teacher that had my name on it, calling her a whore."

Ah, that was the best part...

"We're leaving," the kids say, and I'm left alone with Lucas. I go inside to close the door in the classroom, and Lucas follows me.

He stays at the door of the classroom. At that moment, I turn to look at him, he locks the door and looks at me.

"What are you doing?"

"Now it's just the two of us. I wouldn't leave you like this."
