"I kiss you, I have to go, okay?"

I nod my head positively and look at him. My phone buzzes with notifications, and I check it.

Mike looks at me and smiles as he goes to change.

"I'll start getting ready soon.""Alright, I'll be ready in 10 minutes," I reply, then close my phone and go to get ready.

I put on my shoes and a black hoodie. I grab my bag and head to the living room.

Mike looks at me as he gets up from the couch.
"Okay, well, no one stands a chance against you."

"Come on, stop it!"

"I'm just telling the truth."

The horn from outside sounds, and I glance at Mike. It was Lucas.

"Wait, let's leave together," he says as we turn off the lights and head outside together.

Mike looks at the car, sees Lucas, and then glances at me mischievously.
"Uh-oh! No! We're just friends."

"Alright, alright. Friend or not, you just hooked up with him," he says, and I hit him on the arm.

"Ouch!" he pretends to wince.

"I'm going to be late, see you later!" I say, hugging him while he kisses me on the cheek.

"Be careful, and call me if you need anything."

I nod my head and head toward Lucas's car.

I get in, and he gives me a sideways glance.
"Hey," I say, looking at him.

"Hey," he replies tersely, starting the engine.

We arrive at the gym, and as I step out of the car, he follows me.

He walks ahead, leaving me behind, so I run to catch up.

"Is something wrong?" I ask, noticing his angry expression.

"Nothing's wrong," he says, moving ahead.

We enter the training room.

"Well, well, look who's here!" the coach says as he spots us.

"Hi!" I say, placing my bag next to Lucas's.

"Alright, start warming up, you know what to do, no need for me to remind you."

We begin our warm-up. He hasn't said a word, as if I did something wrong.

Maybe he got annoyed because I said that to Lydia earlier... I know he hates being called names that aren't true.

I keep glancing at him as I continue thinking...

"Alright, let's go! Emma on your rope, and you on yours, Lucas," we hear the coach, and we move to our ropes.

"And go!!"

"EMMA, LOWER YOUR ARMS, THERE YOU GO, GOOD! NOW PUSH!" he instructs, and I follow his command, taking him down.
"Great, keep doing that move."

I continue practicing the same move for a while before he goes to Lucas. The coach doesn't say anything to him because he's so focused—yeah, he only concentrates like this when he's angry, especially Lucas.

"Alright, that's enough!" the coach says, and we head to drink water.

The coach steps out of the room for a moment, and I take this opportunity to talk to Lucas...

I grab him by the shoulder and turn him toward me. He raises an eyebrow at me.

"What the hell is wrong with you?"

"None of your business. I have something to do, I can't take you home."

"What work? You brought me here, and now you say you can't?!" I yell at him.

"Go to the guy who kissed you earlier." Wait, what? Did he mean Mike? No way.

I give him a slap, and he stares at me.
"Why did you do that? You're being ridiculous! Do you really think I would let just anyone kiss me, you fool?" I tell him, glaring at him.

"Don't do that again! Save that for your little boyfriend!" he snaps back.

I glare at him and go to shove him, but he grabs my arms and pulls me closer. He looks at me angrily.

"I don't kiss just anyone!" I say, looking him in the eye.

"I'm not stupid, I saw you earlier."

"What exactly did you see?" I ask.

"That guy kissing you! Aren't you supposed to be different from those girls?" he says as he lets go and walks back to his bag. I turn him around again to make him look at me.

"But I'm not!" I say, kissing him while my hands are on his cheeks. He got jealous, thinking Mike was my boyfriend. He puts his hands on my waist, pulling me closer.

I pull away from the kiss and look at him.
"I don't give that kind of kiss to anyone else!" I reply, and he watches as I walk over to my bag to change.

In the end, I change and decide to leave on my own, just like he said before. I step out of the gym, but he catches up with me, grabbing my hand.

"What do you want?!"

"Where are you going?"

"As you said, you have work to do, so you can't take me home, I won't let you take that away from me," I respond, looking at him.

"Sorry, okay, that was my mistake!" he admits, looking at me.

I smile and continue walking ahead... He watches and follows me again.

"At least let me make it up to you," he says, and I turn to look at him.

"You? How will you make it up?"

"You'll see if you come with me," he replies, looking at me.

"Supposedly, you had things to do."

"No, I don't. Will you come or not?"

"Where are we going?"

"You'll see, will you come?" I look at him and exhale, then follow him to his car once again.
