"no jaemin, i am really too tired to attend any party today" donghyuck shouted in his phone as the other omega called him for the fifteenth time since morning.
the club owned by jaemin's parents was turning seven years old. in its celebration, they were throwing a grand party in it and jaemin had invited the whole group. well the whole group except jeno, but that's because they were still fighting, so it made sense.
donghyuck was tired this week. all the studying, extra classes and of course, thinking about mark was really exhausting him and while he loved a gala once in a while, today was not the day.
"hyuckie, you cannot do this to me. you all promised me that you would come and my parents would be really upset if you don't show up," jaemin replied, and donghyuck could practically see his pout from the other line.
he sighed, "jaemin, i don't know. i am not really feeling it today."
there was dead silence from the other line. donghyuck wondered if he had made the other too upset and was going to apologise once again.
but then jaemin beat him to it as he said, "i was not really going to pull this card since i wanted it to be a surprise, but if this it what it takes," he took a small gap of silence, "mark is going to be there."
donghyuck jolted straight from his bed to the floor and literally shouted, "REPEAT THAT."
he was so sure that jaemin was smirking at the other end of the line, maybe even praising himself for playing such a smart tactic, "of course mark is going to be there. all his friends too. you might want to see him hyuck, outside of any academic setting."
there was absolutely no way that donghyuck wasn't attending this party now. he could see mark and admire him without looking like a stalker and would be able to talk to him about things that don't involve a certain subject he dislikes.
"jaemin, sometimes i think i don't tell you enough how much i love you," he said, already opening his closet to decide his outfit.
"hyuck, can i ask a question?" jaemin asked, a sudden change in his tone.
"go ahead."
"should i invite jeno to the party?"
donghyuck noticed the tension in his voice. jaemin was really very close to jeno, so it definitely must be hurting him. but his obliviousness was completely blinding him whereas jeno too was doing too much with the possessive act without expressing himself.
donghyuck thought they both were at fault in this.
"nana," he called out the older's nickname, "i personally think you should because at the end of the day you're such close friends. don't let this get to you. it would really hurt jeno if we all went and he wasn't even invited."
