Prologue

The Kims.

A wealthy and respected family that had 4 children, all boys.

Ryker

Raiden

Jungshi

Seungmin

Ryker and Raiden were the twins. They were the oldest of the children. They loved to play and help their mother, especially when she was pregnant with their younger brothers. They were good kids. So good that their mother wanted another one shortly after having them.

Jungshi was the middle child. He loved his older brothers and would try to be like them. He was a bit wilder than the twins, but that didn't stop their parents from trying for more children.

Unfortunately, their mother had a really hard time conceiving after having Jungshi, that she gave up in trying for more kids and cherished the time she had with her 3 loving boys.

One day, she got so sick, and nothing seemed to help. She thought she caught the flu, but when the sickness didn't go away after a full week, she tried the next thing she could think of.

A pregnancy test.

She didn't think it would be positive, but she was so sick that she hoped this was her answer on why she wasn't getting better.

To her surprise, the test was positive. She immediately called her husband and told him the news. They got a doctors appointment set up for the next day, and when they came home afterward, they gathered their three boys who were now older. The twins being 5 and Jungshi being 4.

The news shocked the boys, but the twins felt it was time to start growing up and be a good example for their new sibling. After all, they were in kindergarten.

Once Seungmin was born, the twins took to him like he was their own child, helping out whenever they could while also playing when they wanted. Their mother really appreciated their help. Jungshi was a bit shy at first, but he couldn't wait to show Seungmin his dinosaur collection as he got older. The Kim's were so happy with their boys.

Seungmin seemed to fit in perfectly. Since he was the baby of the family, he got away with almost everything while his brothers did not. Their mother babied him every chance she got.

When his brother's had friends over, their mom would take Seungmin out for ice cream and a movie or a shopping trip. He loved spending time with his mom. She was the absolute best.

As he grew older, Seungmin seemed to take advantage of the fact that he was being babied by his parents, but especially by his mother. His brothers quit babying him so much unless they could see he was physically upset.

Once Seungmin made it to high school, he seemed to distance himself from his family, and he started to get anxious when asked about his day at the dinner table. When his brothers noticed Seungmin's actions, they tried confronting their baby brother. Turns out, he was being picked on at school, and since all three of his brothers weren't there to protect him, he became an easy target.

Somehow, word got around the school the next day that if anything happened to Seungmin, the older three Kim brothers would take care of the issue themselves and that seemed to stop the bullying instantly as no one wanted beef with the Kim brothers.

After that, Seungmin made it through high school easily, and he was now 19. He was going to go to Seoul University and live in the dorms.

He chose Seoul University as most of his classmates were going to the University of Busan or to other countries to study abroad. He was hoping to escape being a 'Kim brother' where people's decisions were based on his name and start a life where he wouldn't be under the pressure of his successful brothers all the time.

He loved his brothers, don't get him wrong, but to live in their shadows and be expected to accomplish great things or to act tough like they were, was something he wasn't confident in because Seungmin was definitely softer than his brothers.

He wanted to begin his adult life without his name becoming the main reason people liked him. He wanted friends who would hang out with him and go shopping because they wanted to, not because Seungmin was wealthy.

Seungmin would soon find out what it's like living away from his family. He didn't cook much, and he cleaned occasionally. His mom still did everything for him because he was her baby.

And with her last baby finally going off to college, his parents were going to travel now that all of their boys were grown adults.

And so begins the story of Seungmin's first year of college...
