Seungmin didn't know why he told Chan that he had a crush. It just came out, but thankfully, Chan didn't ask any prying questions, and Seungmin couldn't be more thankful.
When Jeongin came back to the dorm later, he wanted to ask his roommate so many questions, but Chan had texted him not to. Saying that Seungmin will open up on his own time and that they shouldn't rush him.
Seungmin was doing homework while Jeongin tried his best to ignore the burning questions in his mind. He really wanted to know who the boy's crush was because he thought it was for sure Changbin. Jeongin's head was so loud that he decided to start cooking to quiet his thoughts and to give himself some time to think logically.
When the roommates sat down to eat dinner, he couldn't help but ask the questions in his mind. "Who was it?"
Seungmin looked confused, "What?"
"Who was your crush?" Jeongin asked. "Chan hyung told us you found out your crush has a boyfriend. So.. who was your crush?"
Oh.. Seungmin thought, before speaking, "It doesn't matter."
Jeongin furrowed his brows, "Why doesn't it matter now?"
"Because their boyfriend is perfect, I'll never be able to catch his eye like them." Seungmin's voice held sadness. He didn't seem confident in himself, and that hurt Jeongin's heart when he realized. He reached a hand out to his roommates and held his unoccupied hand softly. "If your crush can't see what I do, then he is blind. You are perfect just the way you are, Minnie. You don't need to be focusing on being like other people when you are already your own wonderful person. Anyone would be lucky to have you." Jeongin tried smiling to assure his roommate.
If you only knew.. Seungmin felt sad, but he still smiled at his roommate for the kind words. "Thanks, Innie."
"Now, can you tell me who it is?" Jeongin pleaded. Seungmin shook his head, "No, because.." he trailed off, thinking of something else to say.
"Because what, Minnie? You can tell me anything, you know."
Before Seungmin could stop the words from spilling out of his mouth, he quickly said, "Because I like someone else now." Both of the roommate's eyes widened.
"Oh," Jeongin was definitely shocked. "Well then, do I know this person?"
Obviously.. the puppy boy wanted to say, but he shook his head instead. "No. He's from my marine life class.." I can't let him know that I like his friends.. Seungmin was determined to keep his crush a secret from everyone because he didn't want to seem creepy for liking his friends.
At this revelation, Jeongin frowned and grew sad. "Okay." He whispered. He seemed to lose his appetite and got up to take his plate into the kitchen, putting his food in a container as leftovers and storing them in the fridge. "I'm going to take a shower." Jeongin replied, grabbing clothes quickly and heading to the bathroom.
Seungmin thought his roommate's behavior was off, but he didn't dwell on it.
The rest of the evening was quiet in their dorm. Seungmin did the dishes, and Jeongin did his homework. After the kitchen was cleaned up, Seungmin went to take a shower, but upon coming out of the bathroom, he saw a note on his bed.
'Going to visit Chan. Be back late.'
Even though Seungmin knew where Jeongin was going, he didn't know why his roommate was hiding the fact that he was with Changbin. He wanted Jeongin to be honest about his feelings and his relationship. Then again, Seungmin wasn't being honest either, so why should Jeongin be?
