The Potions Master

I heard a knock at the door as I was eating a hamburger that Dad made. "I'll get it, Daddy," I sang out.

"Alright,Raynie, just be careful," my dad said, always the cautious one.

"Fine," I trilled running towards the door. I opened it to see the dark eyed Professor, Snape I think his name was, holding a bag full of something.

"Come in, please, Professor," I said.

He snorted at me, which I thought was rude... then I heard something... odd.

'They sent the child to get the door. Pathetic really.'

"Excuse me, but they didn't send me to get the door. I got it myself and they're not pathetic. And I have a damn name, you know."

He turned sharply towards me and whispered angrily, " How did you know THAT, Miss Lupin?"

"I heard it, Professor Snape." Just then my dad came in and took in the scene before him. "Ah Severus, have you brought the Wolfsbane for me today?"

"Take it Lupin, I don't have all day, unlike you," he sneered at my dad.

"Wow, you're just a ball of friendliness, aren't you? I'm surprised anyone tolerates you, Snape," I growled out, slightly sounding like an actual wolf... since I'm technically half werewolf.

He turned to face me again and glared at me before storming out.
"Wow Raynie... what did you do to him?"

"I have no clue, Daddy. Lets go finish eating... before Siri steals my plate again." Which is what he, Sirius Orion Black III, was doing, while Harry giggled.

"SIRIUS ORION BLACK THE THIRD, WHAT IN MERLIN'S NAME ARE YOU DOING WITH MY FOOD?!" I swear he jumped a meter and a half when I yelled at the top of my lungs.

"S-sorry Moonlit, it won't happen again... honest."

"Uh huh like I haven't heard that before... I'll get you back for this, mark my words," I said with an evil laugh.

"Uh oh, Padfoot's in trouble, Prongslet," my dad muttered to Harry.

"I try tell him no... he not listen."

"Hehe he doesn't always listen, buddy.. just wait, Rayne is gonna get him."

*Third POV*

Twenty minutes later,

"Albus, Lupins child got past MY WALLS and read MY thoughts," Severus Snape growled out after twenty minutes of the Headmaster asking what was wrong.

Dumbledore's face changed from a look of concern to one of complete shock.

"She heard the thoughts in my head and she snapped at me. She is very irritable and acts like an insolent little brat."

Finally Dumbledore spoke, "She may be a Natural born Legilmens. It's rare but she could be and seems to be a powerful one at that."

"It was an invasion of my PRIVACY, Albus."

"Calm down, Severus, she's a mere child. She obviously didn't mean to... Now what were your thoughts at the time this occured?"

The Potions Master seemed sheepish and slightly embarrassed at this question. "I had thought, '"They sent the child to get the door. Pathetic really.'" And she called me out on it.... a three year old girl was brave enough to call me out on something... It angered me, of course. She'll be a Gryffindor by the time she gets into Hogwarts, just like Black and Lupin I suppose."

Albus sat back and stared at the young man before him. He was complaining about a little child and, it seemed, that his heart wasn't in it. He was angry, but it was a watered down version of his true anger. Or maybe, Albus mused, he was just reading what he wanted to see in Severus Snape.

"That little brat acted like she was the Princess of everything," Snape was trying to convince Albus that he despised the little Lupin girl.... to no avail it seemed. Something about Rayne Lupin made him respect her more than before... when she showed some of her intelligence and wit. He had no doubt that she would grow up to be a very intelligent and brave witch, and he wondered who her mother was because Rayne looked similar to a witch he knew when she was young. That witch was Desdemona Gaunt... but she wouldn't have had a child with Lupin... would she?

"Albus, I've taken up enough of your time, I'll be heading off to bed," Snape said suddenly, since his thoughts were occupying his head.

"Goodnight Severus," called Dumbledore as his door shut suddenly, "That boy's mind is wandering more than a Muggle in the wrong part of town," he sighed.
