AN- pic above is Scarlet Serenity Tonks and this is the quickest update I have ever done :)

I sent Dad a new and improved letter... and to be honest I wasn't too sure what he was going to do.
Then at dinner, I got my answer. He sent me a Howler. He was

"RAYNE MARIE LUPIN, YOU SHOULD NEVER SPEAK TO ANYONE LIKE THAT! NOT EVEN PROFESSOR SNAPE. I HOPE YOU LEARN YOUR LESSON ABOUT TALKING BACK TO YOUR TEACHER AFTER YOUR DETENTIONS!"

My dad may be a lot of things, but you can never say he minces words. After the Howler tore itself apart, I got one from Sirius. This should be interesting, cuz I have a feeling my dad knew nothing about it.

"RAYNE MARIE LUPIN...NEVER IN ALL MY YEARS OF LIFE HAVE I EVER BEEN MORE AMUSED. THE INGENUITY OF THAT COMEBACK HAS BEEN RAISED TO MY STANDARDS. IN OTHER WORDS, MY PRINCESS, THAT WAS PRETTY DAMN EPIC. NOW, PRINCESS, DONT TELL YOUR FATHER ABOUT THIS. YOUR KNIGHT IN SHINING ARMOR,
SIRIUS ORION BLACK."

Ah how I love the difference between my dad and my favorite adult in the world. But Sirius thought it was epic, so I was a bit smug.

The whole Gryffindor table was laughing at the two Howlers I recieved. And Harry just said,"I expected nothing less from either of them," while chuckling.

"Of course not, Dad's this empitmy of adultyness and Siri is like a teenaged guy trapped in a thirty something year old body. Which is why Siri will always be my best friend, next to you and Ron of course." Harry and Ron both grinned and we started eating. Which is when Scarlet Tonks, the girl from Ollivanders shop, walked up to us and asked,"did you really back talk Snape and say he is on his monthly, Rayne?"

I smirked and said, "of course I did... wasn't it obvious to everyone else that he's cranky?"

She starts to laugh and say,"wow. I didn't believe it, but you're definitely a brave Gryffindor. I hope we can be friends even though I'm a Hufflepuff."

"Honey the only ones who care about what House you're in are in green. As long as you're nice to me, I'm nice to you."

Her blue eyes light up and she started to do a happy dance, "Cool, so we're friends?"

"Oh hell yeah, I'm gonna call you, Duck."

"Ooh you're Silver.. just so we can confuse people."

"You're definitely my kind of peoples, Duck."

"You too, Silver. I'm gonna go sit down, I'll talk to you in Herbology."

"Bye... Oh crap I gotta go to the Dungeon Bats classroom." It was 6:45pm already and I didn't want to be late, because I knew Snape would be even more irritated with me.

And yes...I had some chocolate with me.

I knocked on the door and his gruff, slightly velvety voice snarled, "Enter!"

I walked in like I hadn't a care in the world and his onyx eyes glared at me. "Obviously you think highly of yourself, don't you, Miss Lupin? Insulting me in my own class, talking back to me. You're just like Black... arrogant and insufferable."

"You were unfairly blaming Harry for something that wasn't his fault. So yeah I pissed you off, because you are a jackass. You're a good teacher because you are passionate about Potions but your attitude is shitty. I felt the underlying feeling of admiration for Potion making in your voice when you did that whole speech. It was inspiring, but you ruined it because you are a total asshole to us."

He got in my face and was livid yet again. I calmly stared into his dark, dangerous and alluring eyes with my golden ones sparking with interest.

"And another thing, Sirius is only insufferable when he doesn't like you. And I know what he did to you, along with James and with my dad sitting on the sidelines."

He looked at me with a little bit of uneasiness in his eyes and he stepped back. And I continued my speech, "I told them both that they should have done things differently, but that's the past. And don't worry I won't breathe a word of it to anyone else. Even though you probably don't believe me."

"Why...Why tell me, then?" He whispered almost silently as he turned away.

"So you know that I know what you went through. And that I have immense respect for you even if you're a dark, dreary asshole."

Snape looked at me and I could tell that he didn't trust me as far as he could throw Hagrid. I walked up to him and asked, "You want me to do the Unbreakable Vow? Just so you know that I won't tell another soul?"

"No! Why in Godric's name would you offer that? You're only eleven!"

"So you would believe me."

"Silly, foolish little girl.. tell me why you're going to keep it to yourself when you could ruin my reputation with the students?"

"Because you've seen enough cruelty in your life, whether it's of your doing or anothers. You need some kind of light, no matter how dim, in your life. Some kind of kindness. And yes, I know you're a Death Eater, or was. And no I'm not telling anyone that either."

He stared at me, flabbergasted to say in the least.

"I can say one thing at least, professor."

"What's that, Miss Lupin?"

"I trust you a hell of a lot better than Quirrel. He just gives off this aura of, well for lack of a better term, evilness. You're dark but you're not evil. That I do know."

He looked at me stunned and we sat in chairs in silence. I had no freaking idea what came over me nor do I remember sitting down, but I do wholeheartedly believe in every single word I said.

"Miss Lupin I will see you tomorrow, the same time, for your detention. And.... thank you, I guess, for your words and trust tonight," he said uncomfortably.

"You're welcome, Professor." And I left the chocolate I had brought him on his desk and I walked out. What I didn't catch was his smile that was directed at the chocolate and the spot I had occupied.
