A/n: Sorry for the long wait again T-T
Also, I can't find the clean version of the song that I wanted to use (it replaces the words, instead of just blocking them, which I like more), and I'm too lazy to find another version to put up there, so...

"Knock, Knock," I heard Varian's voice. I could hear his footsteps near my window. I thought I had locked the window...

"Sorry for coming in through the window." he smirked, "Dreadful etiquette, I know."

I could hear him getting closer.

"Get out of my house." I said sternly. I wanted this... monster out.

"Hiding in the closet?"

The doorknob wiggled.

"Come on, open the door." he tried to coax.

"No! I'll scream. My parents will call the police." I said. I could feel my heart beating faster.

"All is forgiven, baby! Come on, get dressed." VD said nonchalantly, as if I wasn't hiding from him in a closet, "You're my date to the pep rally tonight!"

"What? Why?" I was confused.

"Well our classmates thought they were signing a petition. You gotta come out here and see what they really signed!"

My eyes went wide at his words. I could hear paper rustling.

"You chucked me out like I was trash, for that you should be dead, but, but, but then it hit me like a flash, what if high school went away instead?"

What did Varian mean by that? What was he planning...

"Those cowards are the key! They're keeping you away from me! They made you blind, messed up your mind, but I can set you free!"

I had to think of a plan...

"You left me and I fell apart. I punched the wall and cried. Bam, bam, bam!"

I jolted at the loudness of his voice. Could my parents not hear him? If they couldn't hear him, they wouldn't hear me. So that was one option taken away.

"Then I found you changed my heart, and set loose all that truthful stuff inside. And so I built a bomb. Tonight our school is Vietnam! Let's guarantee they never see their senior prom!"

So that was his plan...
To blow up the school...
And anyone in it...

"I was meant to be yours. We were meant to be one." his voice was sweet, which filled me with more dread somehow, "Don't give up on me now. Finish what we've begun. I was meant to be yours."

"So when the high school gym goes 'boom' with everyone inside. Pkhw, pkhw, pkhw!" his voice was back to the jarring, yet smooth, psychotic sound, "In the rubble of their tomb, we'll plant this note explaining why they died."

There were sounds of the paper again.

"We, the students of Westerburg High, will die." he read, "Our burned bodies may finally get through to you."

It was almost as if I could  hear my classmates...

"Your society churns out slaves and blanks. No, thanks. Signed the Students of Westerburg High. Goodbye."

I couldn't let this happen. Not to anyone. Not to Rapunzel. Not even to the remaining Populars.

"We'll watch the smoke pour out the doors. Bring marshmallows, we'll make s'mores. We can smile and cuddle while the fire roars!"

"I was meant to be yours. We were meant to be one." his voice was back to that overly sweet tone, "I can't make it alone. Finish what we've begun. You were meant to be mine. I am all that you need. You carved open my heart. Can't just leave me to bleed."

I had to think fast. How would I get out of this situation.

I could attack him.
But with what?

"Veronica, open the, open the door, please," his voice was quick, "Veronica, open the door."

I didn't have long.

An idea! Finally I had an idea. It was a very risky one, but what choice did I have.

I began tying things together, scarves, pants.

"Veronica, can we not fight anymore, please? Can we not fight anymore?"

I tied them into a noose.

"Veronica, sure, you're scared, I've been there, I can set you free!"

I flung the non-loop side over the closet rod, securing it in place.

"Veronica, don't make me come in there! I'm gonna count to three!"

I stood on my tiptoes and slid my head through the loop. I swayed a bit, trying to look convincingly dead.

"One!"

Here it comes...

"Two!"

Would it work...?

"Dang it!" he said, losing patience. I heard a loud crack and a clang as the doorknob fell off.

He opened the door.

"Oh my goodness... No! Veronica!" he fell down onto his knees, looking up at me, "Please don't leave me alone. You were all I could trust. I can't do this alone. Still, I will if I must!"

"Veronica!" I heard my mom's voice call out. VD turned the lights off.

"I brought you a snack!" I heard Mom's voice again, "Veronica?"

The bedroom door opened and the lights turned on. I didn't see Varian anywhere.

"AHHHHH!" my mom screamed. I realized what she thought had happened and immediately slipped my head out of the noose.

"No! No! No!" I yelled.

"AHHHHHH!" she screamed, nearly dropping the snack she had brought for me.

"No! No! No!" I yelled, "I'm so sorry! It's a joke! I'm so so sorry! It was a joke!"

She had finally stopped screaming.

"It wasn't funny!" she yelled.

"You're right, you're right, I'm sorry-"

I was cut off by my dad coming upstairs.

"What's going on up here?" his voice boomed.

"Oh goodness, Mom, Dad, I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry."

"Sorry for what?" he asked, confused.

"For being a horrible person," I said without thought.

"What?!" my mom asked.

I began walking towards the door.

"Where are you going?" she asked.

"Out." I responded. I had a monster to take care of.

"When will you be back?" asked my dad. I gulped, grabbing my croquet mallet.

"That's a good question."

And with that I walked out the door.

I had a pep rally to go to.
