Chapter 11

Victoria's Pov 

" I just remembered that me and Rick will have a date together now " Astoria said.

A moment of realization flickered in Rick's eyes.

" We should go now " Rick grab Astoria's hand.

" Have fun, you two " Astoria said.

They stormed out of the door.

" Can I stay here ? I don't have anywhere to go " Asher look to me.

" Sure . What do you want to do ? "

" I don't know maybe just talking "

" I'm not much of a talker but okay " I go along with it.

" I wanted to ask about when did the mayor's assistant kill your parents and curse your brother if it's okay with you "

I took a deep breath. " That happened when I was a teenager. At first, everything was okay until my father starts to come back home late and mother would be angry at him. Then, it become a habit. One day, mother was gone and I couldn't find here anywhere. She was gone for months until I get the news that she's killed.

I was devastated when I heard the news. My father decided to get married with his mistress which is the mayor's assistant. I already noticed that something was off the moment she stepped in our house. A few months later, Father is nowhere to be found. I noticed that my step mother brought a knife with blood all over it.

I instantly became aware of her. She told me that my father is dead. I was sad but I still have my brother. Then, she became cruel. She used our money for her own needs.

I try to be patient but one day, I failed to contain my anger and I lashed out on her. She cursed my brother because of me. I felt so sorry for him. Thanks goodness, he isn't cursed anymore now. I felt so alone when my brother was cursed. That's the whole story " 

" I never knew that you need to go through all those events " 

" How did your high school love story ended ? "

" I was with Dalia since junior year. One day, she told me that her mother died and I felt sorry for her. The news reached my mother who was very unhappy with it so she told me to broke up with her. I kept telling my mother that I need to be with her since she has no one else. But, my mother didn't care.

 She insisted that I broke up with her cause if I don't, I won't get an inheritance "

" Let me guess you choose money over Dalia "

" Yes. I kinda regret my decision back then. I cried when I told her that I want a break up. After our break up, I focus on my goal to be a property owner. I went to college and graduated.

After graduation, my mother died. Since then, I have owned her properties and look at me now, a successful young man "

" Why do you still try to win her heart before knowing that she was the one who told the elders ? "

" Because deep down, I still think about her and the possibility of us "

" But, you're not thinking about her anymore, right ? "

" Since the revelation, I have thrown away my feelings "

" Good. We can't let ourselves be changed to the past. We need to look forward to the future "

" Have you ever been in love ? "

" I have but it didn't last well. I gave her gifts but she didn't like it. She wanted me to spend time with her. But, I was always busy . That relationship tire me off because I kept giving and she never gave me anything. 

All she can do is complain to me and gave nothing "

" That's a very unhealthy relationship. A relationship should be mutual . Both participants give and receive to each other "

" Do you enjoy being successful ? " I stare at him.

" I quite enjoy it. But, sometimes I feel lonely because I want to share my success with my special someone . How about you ? " He stare back at me.

" I feel very proud of myself for surviving this far and being successful. I agree with you about sharing my success with a special someone " I smile at the thought.

" Whenever you need me, I'll be here for you, Tori " he hold my hand and smile at me.

" Thank you, Ash " I give him a sincere look.

Meanwhile 

Dalia's Pov 

" I am glad that Asher moved on from me with someone better " I observe Victoria and Asher through my crystal ball.

Felicia's Pov

After Victoria and her friend unexpectedly showed up at the mayor's office, I feel infuriated. I call Sofia and tell her to meet me on my apartment. A few minutes later, she appear at my door. 

" What do you need ? "

" I have a special task for you "

Victoria doesn't what I have in store for her.
