Chapter 14

Victoria's Pov 

" Would you go to dinner with me ? "

I am shocked when Asher asked me for dinner. Many things run through my mind right now.

" So, is it a yes or no ? "

" Um ...... Yes " I said.

" See you tonight. I'll send the location to you "

" See you "

Asher's Pov 

I can finally confess my feelings to her tonight. I hope nothing ruin the dinner tonight. I get out from the mayor's office and head to my new company's opening. As soon as I arrive, lights and cameras surround me.

" Welcome to Oakwood boats opening, everybody " I greeted the press.

" What got you to start this business, Mr. Oakwood ? " one of the reporters asked me.

" Since it's almost summer, most rich people love to enjoy their holiday on a boat. So, I thought why not make a business about boats . Any other questions ? "

" Are you planning to make another business now ? " a female reporter asked me.

" No, I don't have any business ideas "

" Where do you get the boats ? "

" I bought it . Let's just cut to the chase, shall we ? "

I heard to the docks and cut the red ribbon that's blocking me from Oakwood boats office . The paparazzi are clicking their cameras at me. I wave them goodbye and go back to my apartment.

When I arrive on my apartment, I take my grey suit off my body and loosen my tie. Then, I sit on the sofa and pour wine into the wine glass. I am so nervous about tonight. I sip my wine while thinking about tonight.

Meanwhile

Victoria's Pov 

I get a call from my assistant.

" What is it, Meredith ? " I asked.

" I got a clue about the mysterious buyer . It's he and his name starts with A "

" Any other info ? "

" That's all I have now "

" Thank you for telling me " I end the call.

My mind is full with many possibilities. Could it be Asher ? I must be wrong, right ? I open the TV to find the news about Asher opening his new business. I find out that his new business involves boats.

I turn off the TV and pick a dress and purse for tonight. I decided to wear a navy blue long dress with straps and a small black purse.  Asher already sent me the location of the restaurant. 

Tonight

Asher's Pov 

I change my clothes to a black suit with matching trousers. I apply gel to my hair and spray some cologne. As I look at my reflection in the mirror, I couldn't help but feel excitement and nervous. I had been waiting for this moment since the first time I saw her and now it's finally happening. I calm myself down before I head to the restaurant.

I arrive on time.

" A reservation for Mr. Oakwood " I said to the waiter.

" Right this way " the waiter show me the table.

The atmosphere is just perfect. The dim lighting, the intimate setting. I take a seat at the reserved table and thanked the waiter. I order my food while waiting for Tori.

Meanwhile

Victoria's Pov 

I put on the navy blue dress and grab the small black purse. I tell my driver to drop me at the restaurant's location. When I step out of the car, I go inside the restaurant to find Ash sitting on a table near the back. I approach him.

" Did I take too long ? " I asked.

" No,no, not at all. Have a seat " he pulled my chair for me.

" I appreciate the gesture, Ash "

"  Aren't you gonna order ? " he asked me.

I asked for the menu and the waiter bring it for me. I skim through the menu and pick the salmon steak.  There is an awkward tension between us.

" You look amazing " he complimented me.

" Thank you. You look great " I complimented him.

As the food finally arrived, Ash cleared his throat. " There is something I've been wanting to tell you "

Here it comes, I thought, my heart racing.

" I know that we have been working together for a while, and we've been through a lot together, especially  with everything happening lately. But... there's something more I need to be honest about " he paused, meeting my gaze.

I expect him to say something about his new business or that he is the mysterious buyer.

He huffed out a breath. " I have feelings for you " he said softly. " I've had them for a while now. And I didn't want to tell you earlier because I wasn't sure if it was the right time, or if even you felt the same way. But I had to say it tonight. I had to be honest "

I blinked trying to process everything he said. This was not what I expected.

" Ash... " I began, trying to find the right words.

" I know this is unexpected " he continued quickly, sensing my hesitation. " And I don't expect you to feel the same way right now. But, I had to tell you, Tori. I needed you to know "

Suddenly, my phone starts ringing.

" Hang on a second " I answer the call.

" I already have information about the mysterious buyer . It's ........
