From an early age, my brother and I were always different from most. We were always the "freaks" of our school, and we never socialised with anybody but each other. We didn't need others, or at least we didn't need anybody but one person. Our dad. We'd never met him, which partially explains why we're "freaks". We didn't have a dad, and out mother never talked about him. It was always just Rowan and I together, forever and always. But after we both turned 18 and finally graduated school, we both had enough of trying to wonder who this mysterious man was. It was time to find him. So, we packed suitcases, enough to last us a couple months at least but that was if we didn't have a washing machine around, left a sticky note telling our mother what we were doing and we booked a flight.
I know what you're thinking, how do we know where he is? Well, the obvious answer is that we don't. But, we do know where his brother is and what our dad's name is. How do we know this information? Simple, as all rebellious kids learn things. We went through Mum's stuff. His name is Stanley Pines and he has a twin brother by the name of Stanford Pines who lives Gravity Falls, Oregon. And we had to book plane tickets on the next flight to USA, considering that we live overseas. We lived in a seaside town on the western coast of Australia called Geraldton. For what Australia is stereotyped to be like, it's really not that exciting. Anyway, we booked the tickets, boarded the plane and made our way to Gravity Falls. And here is where the real story starts.
{Present Time}
I looked out the window of the bus and watched as the pine trees swayed past us. I, begrudgingly, listened to the two children around twelve in front of us as they snored the entire way here. What, couldn't they have just listened to much and stayed awake? Amateurs to travel, I swear. I look left to see Rowan looking back at me with a patient smile. You know that whole twin telepathy thing? Well it's real. And Rowan is telling me to be patient with them, they are only kids after all. Sometimes, it's a blessing and a curse to have him as a twin. We're almost the exact opposite in personality! He's outgoing and friendly, I'm shy and reserved. He likes sports and being outside, I like being by the fire with a good book. He's patient and well, you get the idea. I went back to look out of the window, watching as the pine trees swayed past us. We'll be there soon, and then we can go and find Dad.
{Time Skip, brought to you by annoying siblings who know how to get on your nerves}
"GRAVITY FALLS! ATTENDEES WISHING TO STOP HERE, PLEASE GRAB YOUR STUFF AND EXIT THE VEHICLE!", the loud voice of the conductor sternly boomed. Talk about loud, he even woke the kids in front of us and they were asleep! He ought to have somebody give him a piece of their mind! Rowan tapped my arm, telling me it was our time to stand and leave. He exited into the aisle before me, grabbing out luggage from the overhead compartment, and I watched as the two kids in front of us also exited their seats and made their way to the front. Strange coincidence that we stopped at the same stop. Guess it was just the way it's supposed to happen. I grabbed my bag from Rowan and we made our way to the exit of the bus, stepping out and taking in the scenery. The air was fresh, pine trees stretching their limbs towards the day lit sky and the overwhelming sensation of serenity was infectious. I looked to Rowan with a bright smile full of hope as we listened to the rumbling of the bus behind us leaving.
We're finally here, and now we can go and find him. Let's find our Dad!
