Bill and I ... No, William. It's William, not Bill. Stupid brain, need to call him William not Bill. William and I approached the door of the Mystery Shack and all of a sudden I froze. What if they don't believe us? What if they don't like him? Well, it's not like we're dating so I don't have to fear them not liking him... God, what am I thinking??
"Y/N. Calm down, it's going to be fine." William says, placing a firm hand on my shoulder. God, he knew I was panicking. It's almost as if he could read my mind, but there would've been no need. It was probably so visible on my face. I smiled at him, taking a breath so then I could remain calmer than before. I reached for the doorknob and twisted it, opening it in the process.
"Y/N! You're back! Where were you for so long?", Uncle Stanford calls from the counter of the shop while handling a customer. "Sorry about that Uncle Stan, I went into town. I should've told you earlier, but I needed to just get out of the house. In fact, I even made a friend while I was out there.", I apologise before gesturing to William who had just walked on and closed the door behind him. "Afternoon sir. I heard a lot about everyone here from your niece here. The name's William Jupp.", he introduces, walking to the counter and holding his hand out for a handshake.
Uncle Stanford looks at him, before smiling and taking William's hand in the shake. God, it's even difficult to mentally call him William instead of Bill. If someone was writing this, I can't imagine the torment they'd be going through, let alone any readers. I smiled, Mabel and Dipper walked through the doorway. I waved at them both, Mabel approaching me quicker than Dipper.
"Y/N... Who's the cute boy over there, the one talking to Gruncle Stan?", she whispered and I had to stop myself from laughing. "That's William. We met while I was in town today and we became friends.", I whisper back. About half way through my response though, she went over to William and started trying to flirt with him. She's a little boy crazy at the moment.
This is a good thing.
