MALANI P.O.V.

The whole entire building was roaring with gossip about how fine the CEO was, and that he didn't look like an ordinary CEO but a HOOD NIGGA!

I was so consumed in my work, I never cared about the gossip around here, it literally was just that....gossip!

I grabbed my phone, laptop, and mouse and headed down to the board meeting we had today. They just sent out an email saying it's mandatory. Sometimes I hated being the face and the head of my department because it was too much damn work.

I walked into the office and I stopped in my tracks as I looked up and seen the most perfect face. My heart fluttered for him as our eyes met and embarrassment crossed my face. He grew to be so perfect!

I cleared my throat a bit and took a deep breath to relax myself and walked towards the head of the table where he stood and took my seat trying not to look at him.

Cute necklace! He spoke softly in a deep voice that only sent shivers down my spine. I acted as if I didn't hear him as he set my stuff up.

Goodmorning everyone! Cynthia our director spoke as the last bit of people came in. "As you all know cause you just read my email we have a few things to go over and discuss. Nun of you have met our CEO here, he's the proud owner of this company and who signs your checks so give a warm welcome to Harlem Hendrix!" She said and everyone clapped.

Thank you! He stood to his feet and i could swear he was taller now. I tried not to look his way, as if he could hear my heart beating. "Thank you Cynthia for that! Um no seriously guys thank you for being here. Yall are a huge part of my company as well so shout out to yall. I'm usually more behind the scenes but I've been working on some great stuff and I decided to get more out there and involved. Just to get to know me a bit....cause a lot of you don't know me. I am Harlem Hendrix, I've owned this company a little over 12 years now, I took every penny I had when I started this. I'm actually from here in the city shout out to Queens! Ima die hard Buffalo Bills fan, so Go Bills! Ima simple hard working man! Any questions?"

Yeah are you single? Someone back here wanted to know? Larry gay ass asked making everyone chuckle including him. Larry was one of my good friends, he was funny as hell and worked in the IT department.

Your single until your married right? He smirked looking at me and I could feel his eyes burning a whole through me. "Any more questions?" "No, how about you guys stand up and introduce yourselves! Starting with you!" He smiled at me. His smile was so perfect.
I was lusting all over him, I felt embarrassed!

I stood up to my feet and smirked at him forcing the fakest smile on my face cause I hated and I mean HATED being the center of attention and it made him giddy inside. "I'm Malani Allen, your Marketing Executive Chief!" I said proudly and he bit his lip smiling hard he could laugh. I sat back down rolling my eyes at him that he just made me do that.

Everyone went down the line and around the table introducing theirselves to him. He seemed to be really interested in everyone and getting to know their titles and roles of their jobs. Learning his company workers. "Thank you everyone for being here! Umm I can't wait to actually work with you all! It's my pleasure! Thank you for working with me as well. I hope everyone has a great rest of your days. Nice to meet you all!" He said smiling as he shook everyone's hand as they left out.

I finished an email and got up to leave. I shouldn't been the first one out! "Hi Lani!" His deep sweet voice lingered into my ears effortlessly as I walked towards the door and he opened it.

Mmm drug dealer turned into business man! Huh? Suits you! I laughed a bit.

Still got jokes huh? He laughed.

I do and what's crazy is you're the biggest one of them all. I smirked.

Ouch! Damn thought you'd be happy to see a nigga. It's been what 11 years...almost 12! He smiled at the necklace around my neck.

It has hasn't it!

What's up with you? Kids? You married? I don't see no ring!

That's cause I'm not married Harlem! And no I don't have any kids.

Mmm good! He smirked.

What about you? You all in my business I know you got a bunch of kids running around here. Or a wife or two.

I mean I could have had a son or daughter but you got an abortion! He said as he hit below the built. "But I been conversing with someone a bit. All that can change though!" He said so adamantly.

Mr. Hendrix! Cynthia called out opening the door grasping his attention. "Your phone!" She said annoyed at me reaching out to hand him his phone cause of a call.

I'll talk to you in a bit! He said getting up from leaning against the table. He walked over to the door and she handed him the phone as he walked out of the bored room.

Fine isn't he?! She asked biting her lip as she watched him walk away.

If you say so! I picked my stuff up from the table to walk out.

FYI he has a finance! So don't try nothing! And if he's gonna cheat with anybody it's gonna be me! She smirked. "Don't get too close!"

Girl I don't want that damn man! I said looking at her like she was crazy with my lips turned up in disgust. "Have at it!" I encouraged walking past her.

I made my way back upstairs to my office and my sister ran into my office.

Sooooooo?! She squealed in excitement.

What he look like? The whole entire building knows that the meeting was about meeting the CEO!

He's cute I guess....wait you're engaged what do you wanna know for?

Girl please! One monkey don't stop no show! I'll leave his ass if it's a better option out there!

Byeeeee Rose! I laughed at her cause she was so serious.

Yeah okay, any who dinner tonight? You coming?

Fuck no! So I can hear your parents nag about how you missed yet another dinner! You're coming!

Whatever! Get out I got a shit tone of work to do, go manage your employees. I waived her off. She was the department manager. I was her boss! We both had great jobs that paid well!

I opened my laptop top and pulled the stack off papers to the front of me to start going through them. A chat request popped up on my laptop screen and opened. It was from Harlem. "You grew to be even more beautifully than ever before!" He said. I don't know why his message made me smile and blush.

You don't look half bad yourself, thank you? I typed back.

For what it's worth, I missed you! Never stopped thinking about you! Can I take you to dinner tonight?

Will your fiancée be there? I questioned sitting back and folding my arms, ready to see what his answer would be.

So is that a yes or no?
