HARLEM P.O.V.

Thanks for coming over! I said slapping Nino up. I didn't know who to call actually. Malani shut down and shut me out. Went upstairs after her father killed himself on the phone with her. We thought it was fake but within seconds we heard sirens then the police knocking down the door. He had timed everything so perfectly. Called the police to report a murder than called her to off his self and by the time he was done they was at the door.
Malani shut down I'm guessing because that's the only father she ever knew. He purposely took his life with her on the phone to hurt her for eternity.

It's time she knows the truth. Nino said nodding his head. I called him because he could be her real father and even though them piece of shit ass people always been in her life and she could be thinking that she has no one left. They all purposely hurted her. This could be a new start for her. I led him upstairs to where our room was. It was so quiet in there. I was nervous thinking she would do something to herself but I know she was stronger than that.

Nino knocked on the door softly and she didn't answer.  "Malani it's Nino. I came over here to talk to you. I first and foremost wanted to apologize to you baby girl. What that man did to you will follow you for the rest of your life. Nothing can compare to that or having to take the life of people you truly loved. I can imagine how you're feeling. When I was 20 I took the life of someone really important to me....my father! He use to beat my mama and she died from it. He tried to cover his tracks but I knew he did it. Everything that's done in the dark comes to the light always."

I would like to sit down with you and get to know you. I know you may feel like you don't have any family left but you do hunny. You have a wonderful husband and me, your father!

You don't have to respond but I want you to know this....me, your mom and, the man you thought was your dad all your life all went to school together. I dated your mom from 9th grade and up. We were in love! Deeply! But my ways in the streets over topped everything. Her parents didn't really like me because of that. Didn't want us together cause I was a thug thought I'd hurt her or get her hurt. We were very intimate early on in life at 14 and we planned to spend the rest of our lives together. Sounds familiar don't it? But all That was until Reese came into the picture and tried to sweep her away. He fell in love with her and she liked the attention he was giving her. Your mom came up with the idea to get pregnant so that way her dad would have to let us be together and we could get married so we did. We got pregnant with you. Her parents wasn't having it and forced her to say I raped her and tried to force me out of town. Reese stepped in and tried to convince her that you were his all because they slept together a week after. But I knew it wasn't true because we timed everything her periods and conception dates to make sure she conceived. Reese didn't know that though. So with me out the picture he made sure to take you and her away from me. I tried to fight to be in your life but they threatened me and brainwashed her to really thinking I did something foul to her. Said if I didn't leave her alone after two years of trying to be with her and get into your life. They went to the police and said I raped her. I went to jail but I said I'd leave her alone for good and they dropped everything. I wanted to be in your life so bad. I wanted to be your father. I missed out on your first words, your first steps, first day of school everything.

(The door opened and Malani stood there with tears streaming down her face.) That's why they never loved me? That's why they always treated Rose as the golden child?

He pulled her into a hug and hugged her tight. "Everything God does is for a reason. All this was in his plans to bring us together. Malani I'm your father and all the bad people are gone no one can ever hurt you again. I'll always be here to protect you not just me but your husband as well. You have a great man and we will always be behind you. We are your family!"
