"This is Thunderbird 2 on final approach to Tracey Island".
I heard coming from Virgil. Gordon and I heard Grandma Tracey going on about cooking tea for the family so we both quietly ran to their Dads desk.
"Please Grandma Tracey, don't give us your food creation".
Gordon said with his fingers crossed.
5 minutes later, I heard footsteps and Grandma Tracey's voice.
"Anyone up there?"
I then heard another voice who I knew was Virgil's.
"Oh no".
Yep. Definitely my man. I then heard quiet footsteps coming towards Gordon and I. Virgil pushed the desk chair away to see us.
"Gordon, Addie?"
He said to us both.
"Hey ya Virgil". Gordon said.
"Hey Hun". I said giving him a kiss.
"How long have you been under here?" Virgil asked as he knelt down onto his hands and knees.
"From the second I sensed Grandma was looking for a test subject. Still recovering from the last family meal".
Gordon explained.
"Luckily Gordon came and got me".
I said leaning against Virgil's shoulder. He kissed my cheek before talking again after I heard something shatter in the kitchen.
"Dads desk. In a way he's still looking out for us".
Virgil said looking at the red desk that once was there Dads.
I heard footsteps, then the sound of Grandma Tracey's voice.
"Hey you two, get out from under there and taste this".
Yes, she doesn't know I'm here.
"Well, he always did take her side".
Gordon said. I went to stay under the table but Virgil brang me out to stand with him and Gordon.
"And you Adelaide, another one to try this".
Man, Virgil you insanely hot idiot. I thought to myself before thinking of an idea.
"I'd love to try it Grandma Tracey, but Brains would like me to research more on the mechanics of Thunderbird 5. So I better go do that".
I gave the other two a wink so they got the "make an idea to get out of this" thought, which worked.
"Sorry Grandma, but-"
Virgil yawned through his sentence before carrying on.
"I feel tired and want to sleep after these missions so I'm going to do that". Virgil came towards me and wrapped his arms around my waist and buried his head in the crook of my neck. I placed my hands over his as we listened to Grandma Tracey talk again.
"So, if you two are going to do what you are, what about you Gordon?"
Gordon gave me a "What do I say look" and I shrugged. He then came up with an idea.
"As much as I would love to Grandma, there are some repairs needed on Thunderbird 4 that I need to do so I'll be off". He said walking to the door.
"Oh well, I'll ask Scott and Brains if they would like some".
As Grandma Tracey left, Virgil and I quietly laughed before making our way to his room. Virgil shut the door after us and took his top off and went and changed in to his pj shorts in the bathroom. He then came and got in the bed and I lay on the sheets facing him.
"Did you actually have to do research for Brains?" He asked moving a loose strand of my brown hair behind my ear.
"Yes, but I finished it two days ago. Anyway, what was your mission like this morning". I replied.
"Well, there was a father and son in an air balloon floating up through the air and the Dad fell over board then managed to get back into the basket as I arrived. Once I was on top of Thunderbird 2, he passed me his son and suddenly, the balloon detached from the basket. I had my hand on the young boy and it bought back so many memories of my Dad. Anyway, I got John to run co-ordinates and how long I had to get the Father so I carried the boy and told him to strap in and we managed to fly down below his Dad who was falling in the air. I attached my rope to myself from inside my ship and opened the main hatch to then grab the Dad and once I did that, used my wrist control to control Thunderbird 2 and change the thrusters so we fell into the ship. I took the impact for him and landed on my back awkwardly so it has been a bit sore since then. The boy and his Dad hugged and I just thought so much about Dad. I wasn't emotional on the outside, but the inside, yeah I was".
Virgil said pulling me closer to him even though I was on the sheets.
"Aww, that's so sweet and an emotional mission Virg. I am so proud of you, helping others around the world and keeping your Dads legacy alive. Also, just wait until you have kids if you do, and do the same type of things you did with your Dad. Man, I'm so lucky to have you as my Boyfriend".
I said before giving him a kiss on the lips.
"And I'm lucky to have you as my smoking hot mechanic".
I looked at Virgil with my best straight face and grabbed a pillow and hit him.
"I'm sorry I'm sorry". He said, the two of us laughing.
"I am lucky to have you as my girlfriend too Addie. And the mechanic part is a bonus".
I laughed and moved myself so I had my legs on either side of him and my hands above his shoulders.
"Where does your back hurt Virg?"
I asked as he pointed to his lower back. I went to my bag which I had gone home and packed this morning with Virgil before he received the balloon mission, to get the the anti-flam. Then, I walked back to the bed and knelt next to him as he turned around so I could rub it where he said.
Virgil afterwards, wrapped his arms around my waist, gently pulling me down to him as he started to kiss me. Make out more like. After 5 minutes of lip locking he whispered in my ear;
"Yes I do want kids to show them what I did as a kid and be a father like my Dad, but only if your with me".
I smiled and blushed. Yeah, I guess I would have a kid for him. I was never the kind who would defiantly have kids. More like I wouldn't. Though if I'm with Virgil, and hearing about this mission and how he wants to be a father like his dad was, I think I'll make it happen for him.
Just as we were resting, an incoming call from John came in. We both quickly got out/off the bed and I helped Virgil button up his shirt as he put his jeans back on. Lucky for me, I was still in my shorts and jersey. As we ran down the hallway, I looked at Virgil's hair which was a tad untidy. Once we were in the seating area listening to Johns transmission with Gordon, Scott and Grandma Tracey, I stood behind him to fix it before we sat down though I was sitting on Virgil's lap.
He was listening to John about what they needed to assist with, which happened to be an underwater rescue involving sea quakes and a underwater sea station. Then he put his arms around my waist and pulled me back to his chest.
"International rescue, can you respond"?
John said from his hologram coming from the eyes of his portrait on the wall.
"We're on our way".
Virgil said as his arms removed from around me and stood up, I stood up too.
Scott on the other hand, couldn't help with the assignment since thunderbird 1 was not ready.
"Ugh, you guys will have to handle this one without me, thunderbird 1 is still grounded".
Scott said as he leaned forward, looking at the ground.
"We'll do our best Scott, we'll do our best".
Virgil said to Scott as Gordon, Virgil and I walked up the steps.
"Sorry Grandma, got to go".
Gordon waved to Grandma Tracy before running off to get ready.
I followed Virgil to his launch sequence known as the rocket portrait.
"As always be careful. I love how you go save lives and help prevent terrible things, but I don't want you all severely hurt and battered even with your gear".
I said as my arms wrapped around his neck.
"I will be careful Adelaide and I promise I won't come back in a severe way. I better go, Gordon will be waiting".
Virgil said with his hands on my hips.
"Okay, I'll be watching how you go. I Love you".
I said moving closer to him.
"I love you too".
And with that we kissed in total silence.
Virgil lent against the wall and smiled at me. I returned the smile before he went down the slide.
"So Adelaide, how's things with Virgil"? Of course that was Scott.
"Great thanks Scott".
I said as I sat next to him.
"That's good".
He replied. This was the most awkward conversation I had ever had with Scott.
Grandma Tracey sat down with us round the hologram table as we watched what was happening with Gordon and Virgil. It didn't take very long before hearing Virgil say that Thunderbird 4 was ready to launch.
"Wow, they certainly high tailed it to this area".
Scott said breaking the silence the three of us were in. I could even see Grandma Tracy wasn't hesitating to speak either.
"They did too".
Was all I managed to reply. Doesn't seem like I am much of a talker today, that's strange.
Next, we heard that Gordon was only 5 minutes out from the station.
"You are right Scott, those two certainly aren't fluffing around".
Grandma Tracy said.
Virgil was now trying to grab ahold of the station to stabilise it from above with his magnetic grapple, which wasn't turning out so well. Meanwhile, it sounded as though Gordon was intrigued in something else that his sensors were picking up as well as his 'famous' Gordon Tracy squid sense. Grandma Tracy, Scott and I watched Virgil, Gordon and John's holograms as well as the one on the table. They started talking about some transponder beacon which I was yet to find out what it was. Scott said that their Dad had one on his ship. Virgil started talking.
"I know this is important Gordon, but can it wait until after we deal with the station?"
"Not if it gets buried by another quake". Replied Gordon.
Apparently a signal was coming from somewhere close and Scott suggested that he should check it out just to make sure. The signal was getting stronger and Gordon got a visual.
"Negative, it's not Dads".
Gordon's voice sounded disappointed and sad.
"Sorry Gordon, now let's get back to work. I'm having a little trouble grabbing hold of the station".
Virgil sounded although he wanted to get this job over and done with. Still tired and sore I guess.
"Not so fast Virgil. Whatever it is I'm looking at, it shouldn't be here".
Just then, Gordon's voice started to rise.
"Uh oh, John it's a sea quake".
"Thunderbird 4, get out of there".
John replied in a serious tone.
"Oh no, John, thunderbird 5!"
That was all we heard from Gordon before the line went dead.
"Oh my". I whispered quietly as I placed my head in my hands.
"Gordon come in, thunderbird 4, can you read me, Gordon". John said with a worried but stern voice.
Just then, John flashed up.
"Scott, thunderbird 4 is not responding and thunderbird 2 is having trouble latching onto the station. We may have a situation".
"F.A.B thunderbird 5".
Once Scott replied to John, Johns hologram ended and Brains came up on the table hologram.
"Thunderbird 1 needs to launch ready or not". Scott spoke.
"Scott, these modifications haven't been fully tested". Brains answered.
"I can't think of a better time then now".
Scott stood up from his seat and walked to his launch sequence which was like two lights.
"Good luck". I said to him.
"Thanks Addie. I'd suggest clearing out, that hangar is about to get toasty".
And with that, Scott was off. Now it was only Grandma Tracy and I till Kayo and Alan return. Please no burnt food.
I watched as the pool moved and out came Thunderbird 1, blowing the lounge chairs further away. What a magnificent sight these machines are, as were all things on Tracy Island, especially Virgil. Oh man, I seriously love that guy.
