Me and Lia have been married since we were 21. We were young, in love and happy. We have a 5 year old daughter, Malia Lou and a 4 year old son, Casper Rune Wälti. We've been in love for so long but lately but I've been feeling off.
I fell out of love and I don't know how to tell her. I just have to find a way to tell her and hope that I can find a way to let her know.
"Mama! Mommy is playing today!" said Malia. "She is, get ready sweetheart" I said, smiling. She goes to get ready and I pull on jeans, a loose white top and vans. I sit down and rub my face. Casper runs in and smiles. "Mama! We leaving now?" asked Casper. "Soon" I said.
Once we are ready, we leave. We get to the Emirates and then we find our seats. We sit down and then the match starts. We watch as they end up drawing. Going home, knowing Lia won't be happy with what happened in the match.
The kids go out the back and I decide to cook some dinner. "I'm home, babe! I'm gonna have a shower!" said Lia. "Ok babe" I said. Once she comes back in and then we dig in. We talk about the day and then we clean up.
Lia sits on the sofa and yawns. I look at my hands and shake my head. I shake my head and look at my phone. I play with my fingers and we watch tv.
Over the next few months, I pull away. I go out and meet a woman, we don't kiss or anything but we fall in love with each other.
Lia's POV:
Past few months, I've noticed Winnie's being pulled away. I've been trying to talk to her but she doesn't want to talk. I shake my head and I push my hair back. I pull my hair into a bun and get the kids to bed.
I pull my hair into a bun and nod. Winnie sits down and I turn to her. "We have to talk... please" I said. "Ok.... yeah. We do." said Winnie. "What's wrong? Why are you pulling away from me?" I ask. "I-I want a divorce" said Winnie. I look at her and tear up. "Why?" I ask. "I-I found myself falling out of love and I just.... I'm sorry.... I loved our time together but I just.... I don't feel the spark anymore" said Winnie. I sigh.
"Have you met someone else?" I ask, hoping she says no. "I have. We didn't do anything physical but it's emotional" said Winnie. "Right. I think it's best you move out and we can start the divorce procedures" I said. Winnie nods and goes to pack.
I look at the wall and I cry. I text Leah and then she comes over. "What happened?" asked Leah. "Winnie told me she wants a divorce and well she had an emotional affair" I said. "Oh fuck. I'm so sorry" said Leah. "I never thought she'd do this to me but I need to get on with life" I said, nodding. Leah hugs me and we chat.
The next few months we're going through the divorce procedures. Once it's finalised, we talk custody. Winnie gets them on the weekend and me during the week.
Telling the kids was hard and thy were heartbroken. They understood and their excited about getting do bedrooms at Winnie's home.
I'm announcing the divorce today.

LiaWälti: After 13 years together, 10 years married, me and Winnie have gotten a divorce. I'm heartbroken because I feel like I have been blindsided by this. My focus is now on Malia and Casper. Me and Winnie will now be focusing on co-parenting our kids. Thank you for respecting our privacy x
