Author's pov:
Vaishnavi is pacing around her room, clothes scattered everywhere. She's on the phone with her best friend, torn between outfits and feeling very anxious and nervous.
Vaishnavi (holding up a dress, frustrated):
"I don't know, Mishti! What am I supposed to wear to a blind date? A dress? Or something more professional? I don't even know who this guy is."Mishti (on the phone, laughing):
"Relax, Vaishu. You're meeting a guy your dad picked out, not going to an interview. Wear something nice...maybe a kurti??"Vaishnavi (sighing, glancing at the clock):
"I'm already late. This is a disaster...Uuuggghhhh"Mishti(playfully said)
"Main toh chaliii ..mujhe bohot kaam h. Aur haan agar wo handsome ho toh mere liye uske kisi hot se bhai ya dost ka puch lena."
Vaishnavi(frustrated and rolling her eyes)
"SHUT UPP"
Vaishnavi then cut the call and threw the dress onto the bed . She grabbed a sleek white kurti and a dark red chunari to match with it from her closet. A blend of her usual confident, career-focused look with a touch of casual elegance. She's running behind schedule, flustered and overthinking the whole thing . Grabbing her bag and wallet, she rushes out of the door, her heart pounding with a mix of nervousness and curiosity.
As she races toward the restaurant in the cab , Vaishnavi wonders if this blind date is even worth it. Her father insisted her to go and although she's skeptical and blind dates have never been her thing, she had to agree after all she unconditionally loves him and agrees to whatever he says. What if this turns out to be just another awkward evening with someone she can't connect with?
Vaishnavi (thinking, running late):
"I can't believe I'm doing this. What if he's weird? What if we have nothing to talk about? Ugh, I hate being late!"Meanwhile, Krrish is already at the restaurant, seated with his back to the entrance. His special forces uniform is spotless, medals gleaming slightly under the dim lighting. He's rigid, staring ahead as though the restaurant is part of a mission briefing, not a place for casual conversation. He checks his watch but doesn't seem particularly bothered by his blind date's tardiness. If anything, he's used to waiting, used to being alone . Krrish's mind is elsewhere, already calculating the time he'll give this date before making an exit.He is also a bit tired as he just got a holiday and instead of goin home ,he directly came to his favourite restaurant in Jaipur, his hometown ,where his mother had set up a blind date for him .He's only here because his mother insisted him , he sees no value in romantic entanglements .Especially with a blind date..
Krrish (thinking, emotionless):
"This is a formality. Nothing more."Meanwhile, Vaishnavi finally arrives at the restaurant, her breath is short from hurrying, but she composes herself quickly before stepping inside. She scans the room nervously, still wondering what her mystery date might look like. Her eyes land on a broad figure in a military uniform, sitting with his back to her .She hesitates, unsure if that could be him..so slowly, she approached him and the realization hits her like a jolt—it's Krrish. She freezes momentarily, her mind racing. The uniform, the cold and rigid posture,he's not the same person she remembers.
Vaishnavi (softly, almost to herself):
