Today is my soulmate's birthday aur isiliye ye new upadte..Happy birthday mere life ka diya🪔🪔

Vaishnavi's mind was a whirlwind of thoughts. No matter how hard she tried, sleep refused to come. The day had been a mix of chaos and surprises, and now, as she lay in her hotel bed, the stillness of the night only amplified the noise in her head.

Finally giving up, she grabbed her hoodie and slipped out of her room. Wandering through the quiet corridors of the hotel, she made her way to the basketball court nestled within the campus. It was 2 a.m., and the air was cool, heavy with the calmness of the hour.

To her surprise, the court wasn't empty.

A man in a black hoodie was already there, moving gracefully as he dribbled and shot hoops. His figure was tall and lean, his movements precise and practiced. But Vaishnavi didn't care who he was. Her emotions felt too tangled, too heavy to acknowledge his presence.

She spotted a ball resting on the side and picked it up, stepping onto the court. Without hesitation, she lined up a shot and released the ball.

The three-pointer swished cleanly into the net.

A low whistle broke the silence.

Man:
"Good one!"

Vaishnavi turned to see the man watching her, his face partially obscured by the hood. His tone was casual, almost amused, but something about it made her pause. She squinted, stepping closer, and then froze.

It was Krrish.

He lowered his hood, his sharp features catching the faint light of the court.

Krrish (calmly):
"Midnight basketball, huh? Didn't know you were into this."

She swallowed her initial surprise, quickly masking it with indifference.

Vaishnavi:
"And I didn't know you owned this court. Guess we're both learning things tonight."

He smirked, dribbling the ball as he walked toward her.

Krrish:
"Fair enough. Wanna play?"

Vaishnavi (shrugging):
"Sure."

The banter came easily, the tension between them giving way to something lighter, almost playful. As they continued, the game turned into an unspoken exchange—of thoughts, frustrations, and maybe even questions neither of them dared to voice.

Finally, Vaishnavi called for a break, leaning against the pole as she caught her breath.

Vaishnavi (panting):

 "Okay, you win,Happy?"

Krrish stood a few feet away, his hands on his hips, breathing evenly. He looked at her, and for a moment, his expression was unreadable

Krrish:

"It's not about winning," he said quietly.

Vaishnavi( tilting her head, puzzled by his tone.):

 "Then what is it about?"

He didn't answer immediately, his gaze fixed on the empty hoop.

Krrish:

"Clearing  head," he said finally.

Vaishnavi( nodding):

 "It works," she admitted.

The court was silent as they walked back to the hotel together, their footsteps echoing softly. Neither of them spoke, but the quiet felt less heavy now, like something unspoken had shifted between them. The silence stretched again, and Vaishnavi's stomach decided to make itself known with a loud growl.
