The next morning, Rafe came to get Jazmine from outside her room. He told her not to bring anything with her and just head straight down to the car.Without making a sound, Jazmine descended the stairs. She was naturally quiet, but alone in this big house, she found herself unsure of the way.
"... Need some help?"
Jazmine jumped, turning around quickly.
"It's a family thing, sneaking up on people like that?" she said, slightly on edge.
In front of her stood a young girl. Jazmine recognized her as Rafe's youngest sister, Whimsi or something like that.
"You're the youngest, um..." Jazmine began.
"Weezie," the girl clarified. "Yeah, that's me."
"Sorry for the trouble," Jazmine said, trying to keep her voice steady. "Rafe told me to wait for him in the car, but I-"
"It's right there," Weezie said, pointing just behind Jazmine.
Jazmine turned around, feeling a bit awkward.
"So, are you one of his girlfriends or...?" Weezie asked, curiosity plain in her voice.
"Girlfriend? No," Jazmine answered, a small smile playing on her lips. "Let's just say I'm more of a colleague."
Weezie gave her a once-over and said, "You're pretty."
"Thanks. You are too," Jazmine replied, her smile softening.
Just as Weezie was about to say something else, Rafe appeared.
"I told you to wait in the car," he said.
"Calm down," Jazmine shot back. "I didn't know where to go."
Rafe shook his head in frustration before turning to Weezie.
"I'm gonna be gone for a while," he said, his tone softening slightly. "Good luck with... everything."
"Yeah, thanks," Weezie said, rolling her eyes a little.
Before leaving, Jazmine turned back to Weezie with a small smile.
"It was nice meeting you."
...
After a silent drive, Jazmine arrived at the Cameron estate, Tannyhill.
As she stepped out of the SUV, she was taken aback by the grandeur of the place.
"Well, well..." she muttered under her breath.
Rafe turned toward her, looking annoyed. "What?"
"It's beautiful," Jazmine said, still in awe.
"Yeah, well, we're not staying long," Rafe replied. "My dad wants me to sell all our properties, including this one."
"Why would he do that?" Jazmine asked, confused.
"He wants to move on or some nonsense like that," Rafe said, shrugging as he opened the front door.
As they walked inside, Jazmine took in the stunning interior. Unlike the other house, this one was filled with family photos. It seemed like Rafe had a good childhood growing up here.
"Follow me," Rafe instructed.
Jazmine trailed behind him up the stairs, her eyes following his every move. She couldn't help but smile to herself, noticing how athletic he looked in those shorts.
