...
Rafe had brought Jazmine to an old fishing boat docked at a rundown marina.
"I can't believe you dragged me here," Jazmine said, her tone dripping with disbelief.
Rafe leaned against the boat casually. "We need a bigger boat."
She scoffed, folding her arms. "Barry? He's really the only guy you could think of?"
Barry stood in front of them, busy with one of the nets. Jazmine felt like throwing up; she hadn't forgotten what that filthy piece of shit had done to her. After everything that had happened, she and Rafe had never spoken about Barry again—not once. Rafe had only mentioned, in passing, that Barry had left the island.
At that moment, Barry turned around, a smirk spreading across his face. "Well, look who it is—Mr. and Mrs. Cameron," he said mockingly before feigning confusion. "Oh wait, my bad. Former Mrs. Cameron, right?"
Jazmine rolled her eyes, causing Barry to laugh even harder.
Barry chuckled, clearly amused. "You're not as quick with the comebacks anymore, Jazmine. What's going on? Domestic life got you mellowed out, huh?"
Rafe cut in, his voice firm. "We need your boat, Barry."
Barry raised an eyebrow, looking them both over. "You're out of your damn mind. This boat's how I make my living now—and clean, by the way."
Jazmine smirked, her tone mocking. "From the local dealer to a top fisherman, quite the career change, Barry."
Barry smiled, his gold tooth glinting as he responded, narrowing his eyes. "The only reason you have any money is because of Rafe, Jazmine."
Jazmine laughed genuinely, the first time in a long while. "Wasn't that the same for you a while ago, Barry? Before all those rich white kids addicted to coke stopped coming to your place?"
Barry sneered, dismissing her jab. "You're not getting my boat."
Rafe stepped closer, his gaze unwavering. "See that boat over there?" he asked, pointing to a sleek yacht in the distance. "If I don't bring yours back, that one's yours."
Barry looked at the yacht, then back at Rafe, unimpressed. "Why the hell would I want that?"
Jazmine rolled her eyes, stepping in. "Because that boat costs half a million dollars, you idiot,"
Barry's expression shifted slightly, his interest piqued but his stubbornness holding.
"So," Rafe said, his voice low and deliberate, "are you in or not?"

Once they were on Barry's boat, Jazmine and Rafe set sail. The coastline faded into the distance, and Jazmine leaned against the console, letting Rafe take the lead at the wheel. She watched the waves in silence for a moment before finally speaking up, her voice breaking the rhythm of the ocean.
"I can't believe you gave him your boat"
Rafe kept his eyes on the horizon, his grip on the wheel steady.
"This small boat would never have survived the trip, it was the obvious choice," he replied calmly.
Jazmine tilted her head, narrowing her eyes at his calm demeanor. She glanced back at the endless stretch of water ahead, her mind turning over the situation.
