me and veronica continued walking to find eric and tried to comfort her on the fact that she doesn't have a home now because of those stupid gang members.

suddenly , a little girl on a skateboard with blonde hair up in a ponytail , a hoodie , and a bunch of necklaces skated up to us. "hey , sarah!!" veronica said to the girl.

sarah picked up her skateboard. "hi , veronica. i was hoping you were still at home so i can get away from darla." an immediate sad look was on veronica's face.

"yeah , kid .. i don't have a home anymore .. someone set it on fire .." sarah said she was sorry for her and hugged her. after they pulled away from the hug , we kept walking with sarah joining us.

"anyways , sarah , this is me and eric's friend , katrina." sarah looked at me. "it's just kat." i said. sarah furrowed her eyebrows a bit in confusion. "i've never seen you before. you knew eric?"

i smiled at the child's curiosity. "yep. i know him." sarah looked even more confused but she just brushed it off. "eric was really important to me. him and shelly used to take care of me and if they wouldn't then veronica would because darla doesn't give a shit about me."

i was saddened by her words. "who's darla , sarah?" she looked down at the ground. "her mother." veronica said. sarah sighed. "unfortunately."

she chewed on her gum. "where are you two going?" me and veronica looked at each other and then back at the girl. "to see eric." i said. "then i'll come with you!!" said sarah.

me and veronica looked at each other again , hoping one of us would come up with an excuse. "you need to go home , sarah. it's late." sarah rolled her eyes. "my mom won't even be home until much later."

veronica sighed at sarah's stubbornness. "i'm serious. you need to go home." sarah rolled her eyes , getting back on her skateboard and putting her hood up before skating away.

"i don't know what i'm gonna do about that kid." veronica said to me. we continued walking. "does her mom not take care of her or something?" i asked her.

veronica sighed. "well .. pretty much yes. she's on drugs and her gangster boyfriend isn't making it any better." i felt horrible. "oh my gosh , that's awful."

veronica crossed her arms as she looked down at the ground. "eric and shelly were like her parents and i was like her cool aunt." she smiled and looked back up. "that's cute." i said.

all of the sudden , eric appeared out of thin air once again. "i found him , katrina , let's go!" he said quickly. veronica furrowed her eyebrows. "no , eric. let me come so kat doesn't get herself killed."

me and eric both looked at her. "oh .. right. you guys are both invincible .. alright i'll go chill somewhere else." she walked away and me and eric ran to the place.

both of us climbed to the window where they were at. his crow and my raven flew into the window so we could see through their eyes to see what we were dealing with.

i saw funboy and a woman shooting up drugs on a bed. when they noticed the birds in the room , funboy started trying to irritate them. me and eric looked at each other , signaling that the coast was cleared.

we crept through the window. funboy met eyes with us. "the fuck are you two doing in my house .." he said , slurring his words because of the drugs. he got a gun out and aimed it at us.

eric moved a chair near their bed and sat backwards on it , putting his hand on the end of the gun. "take your shot , funboy." both funboy and the woman started laughing at him.

i instantly got that feeling of rage again and held my knife against his throat. "i want you to feel how i felt." his eyes widened when he realized who i was. "the fuck .. we killed you .."

his eyes panned over to eric. "and him too!!" he shot eric in the hand and took my knife and stabbed me in the chest. me and eric both act like we were hurt while funboy hyped himself up.

when we healed and funboy realized it , he said : "jesus christ .. you're both immortal .." a sinister grin grew on eric's face. "jesus christ? stop me if you heard this one. jesus christ walks into a hotel .."

funboy shot him again. "and he hands the innkeeper three nails and says .." he shot him again. "DON'T YOU EVER FUCKING DIE?!" funboy screamed while eric continued his sentence. ".. 'can you put me up for the night?"

he shot funboy and i slit his throat. the woman ran out of the room before we even got a chance to look at her. i whispered to eric : "what are we supposed to do about her?"

eric replied : "i'll take care of it." i dragged funboy to the bathtub as eric went over to the woman who was sitting in a corner , looking terrified for her life.

eric grabbed her with his hand over her mouth as she tried to scream. he stood her in front of a mirror with his hand on her forehead and the other was holding her wrist.

"look." he said to her. "mother is the name of god on the lips and hearts of all children. do you understand?" the woman nodded as eric squeezed her wrist so the drugs oozed out of her veins.

"morphine is bad for you." he let go of her and cupped her face. "your daughter is out on the streets waiting for you." the woman nodded and rushed out the door without saying a word.

i looked and eric and he looked at me. "was she that girl sarah's mother?" he nodded. i instantly regretted the thoughts of killing her. "we better go before his buddies find him."

i nodded and we both rushed out the window. as we were walking through the streets , we saw sarah on her skateboard in the middle of the road. a car was going really fast behind her so eric ran over to her to get her out of the road.

"let go of me , you creep!" she exclaimed. he let go of her. "you shouldn't be skating out in the rain." he said to her. she picked her skateboard back up. "it's more like surfing than skating. i wish the rain would stop just once." she started walking away from him.

"can't rain all the time." he said before vanishing. "eric?" she looked behind her. eric ran to where i was. "why won't you reveal yourself to her?" i asked him before we started walking again.

"not my time yet."
