we got to the new lake house and we were immediately welcomed by everyone. the house was perfect for a big family with 6 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

i was baffled at the thought of how jason and anastasia could afford this. we all sat in the beautiful living room. the fireplace was lit , bringing a cozy warmth to the room.

they truly were living a dream. "i'm so happy you two are back." said anastasia , sipping her coffee. eric held my hand , making me a bit startled by his sudden action. had he forgiven me?

"we're glad to be back." eric said with a smile on his face. i smiled as well. suddenly , a question popped into my mind. "i just wanna know why we were revived though. i mean .. what do we have to set right?"

jason sighed in thought , trying to come up with an answer. "unfortunately , i'm not quite sure .." he paced around the room. loretta blew her gum into a bubble.

"i mean our birds didn't take our powers away after top dollar died .." she said. usually when we have these meetings , she would be smoking a cigarette but today , she's just chewing gum.

"me and eric only lost our powers because our birds were shot at." i said. "yes .. but you died because the both of you needed rest." said jason. me and eric looked at each other confused before looking back at him.

"rest for what?" i asked. "to take on an even bigger enemy." after being silent the whole time , veronica jumped into the conversation. "but you said you don't even know who it is!"

jason glared at her. "yes , that's right." he said in a stern tone. "could be days , could be weeks , could be months , could even be years .." we all looked at him blankly when he said it could take years.

"so we're supposed to wait for an enemy that we don't even know when it's gonna come yet? sounds like bullshit to me .." said chris , mumbling the last sentence.

jason glared at him like the way he glared at veronica. "then i bet your glad you're not gonna be the one fighting , aren't you?" he said in a mocking tone.

chris rolled his eyes. "but i don't understand .." said veronica. "detroit is peaceful right now .. the most peaceful it's ever been in years!" loretta blew her gum again before scoffing.

"yeah for a reason .." she said. "whatever secret organization we're up against is holding all of the bad people in detroit captive so that they can attack the city before we expect it."

loretta had changed up her look a little bit. her hair was longer but it was still tied in low pigtails. the tips were still dyed red on one pigtail but the other one was black instead of blue.

"they always want enough time to prepare because they know they have to face you two." jason said , pointing at eric and me. i felt a bit cocky when he hinted at me and eric being the strongest ones in the group.

anastasia looked out the window and sipped her coffee. "it's a beautiful day outside. you guys should go out to the lake." loretta shot up from the couch.

"good idea , sis!" she put her arm around anastasia. chris looked at eliza , who was sitting right next to him. "you wanna go?" he asked her. she nodded.

"i wanna take a walk with katrina." eric looked at me , smiling. i blushed. loretta looked at everyone else. "what about you guys?" jason shook his head.

"me and anastasia have research to do." he said. loretta rolled her eyes and then looked at veronica. "what about you , honey?" veronica grabbed her purse and stood up.

"i'd love to but i have to get back to the restaurant." she said. loretta scoffed. "fine then. fuck you guys."

her , eliza , and chris all got their swim attire on to go swim in the lake while me and eric took a walk. as we walked , me and eric watched them splash each other but mostly chris and eliza were splashing each other the most.

"wonder what that's about." i whispered to eric. he chuckled. "isn't it obvious? they're in love." he whispered back. i scoffed. "pfft no way .. i know eliza. she wouldn't go for a guy like chris."

he hissed a bit under his breath. "well .. he had his arm around her on the couch. plus , they literally live together."

could it be true? eliza? in love with my boyfriend's little brother? no way. i eventually gave into the idea and smiled at them.

"katrina .." said eric. "come here. i need to talk to you." i was curious about what he had to tell me. he took my hand and led me to a tree where no one could see us.

"what's this about?" i asked with a grin. he chuckled. "it's not what you think. i need to ask you something that's been on my mind all day."

i smiled at him with excitement. "go onnn .." he took a deep breath to prepare himself. "listen , katrina .. i don't think i could live without you." i grinned and rolled my eyes at his sappiness.

"we're dead already." i said sarcastically. he nodded with a little laugh. "yes , i know. but i wanna spend the rest of .. this weird life with you."

i raised an eyebrow. it couldn't be. he held both of my hands. "listen .. i don't know how much time we have left together but i do know that i love you and you love me."

i felt tears welling up in my eyes as i started to choke up. "eric , you can't be ser-" he cupped my face to stop me from talking. "listen to me .. i need you."

i blushed at what he said , still trying to hold back tears. he brought the back of my hand up to his lips to kiss it.

"marry me , katrina. we could either run away together to get away from this mess .. or we could spend the rest of our lives fighting off all the evil people in the world together."

that's when i completely broke down into tears and lost it. "i .. i will .." i said quietly. he tilted his head in confusion. "you will what , doll?" i sniffled as i looked into his eyes with so much love in them.

"i'll marry you." eric also lost it. he gave me a big hug as he cheered in excitement , picking me up to spin me around a bit. when he stopped spinning , i kissed him as i slowly slid down his body until i was back on my feet.

after we pulled away , i whispered to him : "i love you so much i can't handle it .." he sniffled and shook his head. "imagine how i feel .. you drive me absolutely crazy."

he left a few soft kisses on my neck. "i love you more though , doll. i always will."
