Seonghwa lay in bed, tossing and turning, trying his best to fall asleep. Despite the comforting warmth of San and Hongjoong next to him, the whispers from earlier still lingered in his mind. Every time he closed his eyes, it felt like something—or someone—was watching, waiting just out of sight.
He groaned softly, shifting once more, hoping to find a comfortable position. But no matter how hard he tried, the unease wouldn’t leave him. It built up slowly, turning into frustration. His mind raced, unable to quiet the thoughts that kept him on edge.
Beside him, San and Hongjoong were already drifting off, unaware of the storm brewing inside their usually calm and gentle boyfriend.
After what felt like hours of struggling, Seonghwa couldn’t take it anymore. A low growl escaped his throat, his frustration boiling over. Without warning, he sat up in bed, eyes glowing with a fierce, predatory gleam.
Seonghwa: (hissing) "Enough!"
The sound was sharp and dangerous, his fangs bared as he hissed into the darkness, anger radiating off of him. His normally composed demeanor shattered, replaced by a side of him neither San nor Hongjoong had ever seen before.
San jolted awake first, startled by the sudden noise. His eyes widened as he saw Seonghwa sitting up, his fangs gleaming in the faint light.
San: (shocked) "Hwa…?"
Hongjoong woke up a second later, just as startled by the sound. He blinked, his gaze locking onto Seonghwa’s tense posture, his lips parted in a sharp hiss.
Hongjoong: "Seonghwa, what’s going on?"
Seonghwa’s chest heaved as he tried to rein in the frustration surging through him. The constant whispering, the feeling of being watched—it had finally pushed him to the edge. He didn’t want to scare San or Hongjoong, but he couldn’t help the way his instincts had taken over.
Seonghwa: (growling) "I can’t… I can’t sleep. These noises, the whispers—they won’t stop!"
San and Hongjoong exchanged a concerned glance, neither of them used to seeing Seonghwa like this. He was always the calm one, the level-headed one, but now, he was on the verge of snapping.
San: (gently) "Hey, it’s okay. We’re here. We didn’t hear anything, but we believe you."
Hongjoong reached out, placing a hand on Seonghwa’s arm, his voice soothing despite his own shock.
Hongjoong: "You don’t have to fight it alone, Hwa. Whatever’s happening, we’ll figure it out."
Seonghwa clenched his fists, trying to calm himself down, but his fangs remained visible, and the hissing from his throat hadn’t fully stopped. The whispers had dug deep into his mind, and no matter how much he tried to push them away, they clung to him.
Seonghwa: "I’m so tired… but I can’t rest. It’s like something is always there, watching."
San moved closer, wrapping his arms around Seonghwa’s tense body.
San: (whispering) "Breathe, baby. We’ll protect you. Whatever it is, we’ll deal with it together."
Seonghwa finally began to relax, the tension in his muscles easing slightly. He glanced at San and Hongjoong, feeling a wave of guilt for lashing out, but their soft eyes reassured him.
Seonghwa: (softly) "I’m sorry… I didn’t mean to scare you."
Hongjoong chuckled softly, shaking his head.
Hongjoong: "You’ve never scared us, Seonghwa. You’re allowed to get fed up. But next time, maybe don’t hiss so loudly, yeah?"
Seonghwa’s lips twitched into a small smile, the anger and frustration slowly dissolving under their care.
Seonghwa: (sighing) "I’ll try. It’s just… it’s getting harder to ignore."
San stroked his back soothingly.
San: "You don’t have to ignore it. We’ll keep watch tonight, okay? You just rest."
Hongjoong nodded in agreement.
Hongjoong: "We’ve got you. Just focus on us. Let us handle the whispers."
With his boyfriends so close, Seonghwa felt the weight of his frustration lift. He lay back down, resting his head on San’s chest, while Hongjoong curled up beside him, offering silent comfort.
The whispers might still be there, but with San and Hongjoong watching over him, Seonghwa felt safe enough to finally close his eyes.
