Back at their hideout, an old mansion tucked deep within the city’s forgotten outskirts, Seonghwa, Hongjoong, and San moved with silent precision. They had lived through centuries of danger, but this time something felt different, more personal.

Seonghwa leaned against the dusty grand piano in the dimly lit room, watching Hongjoong pace back and forth.

Seonghwa: (calmly) "You’re overthinking this."

Hongjoong: (scoffing) "Overthinking? No, I’m planning. There’s a difference."

San dropped himself onto the large, velvet couch, clearly agitated.

San: (grumbling) "We should’ve fought them right there. Letting them slip away like that was a mistake."

Seonghwa glanced at San, his eyes soft but serious.

Seonghwa: (gently) "You know it wasn’t the right time, San. We need to know what we’re up against before we make our move."

Hongjoong stopped pacing, rubbing his temples.

Hongjoong: (with a sigh) "Hwa’s right. That figure didn’t feel like a typical hunter. Whoever they are, they knew how to avoid a direct fight."

San folded his arms across his chest, his frustration barely contained.

San: (growling) "I just hate feeling like prey. We’re not the hunted—we’re the hunters."

Seonghwa walked over to San, crouching in front of him. He reached out and placed a hand on San’s knee, his voice soft and comforting.

Seonghwa: "We’ll get them, San. But on our terms."

San sighed, relaxing slightly under Seonghwa’s touch.

San: (grudgingly) "Fine. But don’t expect me to sit around waiting forever."

Hongjoong smirked, watching the exchange.

Hongjoong: (teasing) "No one’s asking you to. But we need a plan first, and I’m not letting you go charging into a trap."

San rolled his eyes, but there was a hint of a smile tugging at the corner of his lips.

San: (with a chuckle) "You’re such a control freak, Joong."

Hongjoong: (grinning) "You love it."

Seonghwa stood, folding his arms as he looked at the two of them.

Seonghwa: (serious) "We need to find out more about who or what is after us. There must be someone in the city who knows."

Hongjoong nodded, his expression shifting back to focus.

Hongjoong: "There’s a contact I can reach out to. He deals with… underground information. He might have heard something."

San perked up, eyes gleaming with excitement.

San: "Good. Let’s get moving then. I’m sick of sitting around."

Seonghwa: (with a smirk) "Patience, San. We'll get our answers."

The three moved to leave, but just as they reached the door, the room grew colder, and the faintest whisper of a breeze moved through the air. Seonghwa was the first to feel it, his connection to the shadows stirring an unease deep within him.

Seonghwa: (quietly) "Wait..."

Hongjoong stopped, turning to Seonghwa with a furrowed brow.

Hongjoong: "What is it?"

Seonghwa’s eyes darkened as he focused on the shadows in the corners of the room, his senses heightened.

Seonghwa: "We’re not alone."

San stood instantly, his body tense and ready for a fight.

San: "Show yourself!"

A figure materialized from the darkness, their form barely visible, cloaked in shadow. It was the same figure from earlier, but now they were inside their home.

Figure: "You can’t run from what’s coming."

Hongjoong stepped forward, his voice dangerously low.

Hongjoong: (coldly) "We’ll see about that."

The figure melted back into the shadows before any of them could react, leaving only the cold air in its wake.

Seonghwa clenched his fists, his usually calm demeanor slipping for just a moment.

Seonghwa: (gritted teeth) "This isn’t just about hunters… Something far worse is coming for us."

San, his eyes gleaming with intensity, cracked his knuckles.

San: (with a smirk) "Good. I was starting to get bored."
