"Come on, Yn, you're doing great!" Lana says, tugging at your hand, trying to get you to stand up from the couch. "Let's just go back to our usual routine of single girls' fun."
You shake your head, feeling hesitant. The thought of diving back into the dating scene feels overwhelming. "Lana, please, don't push me. I'm not ready for all that again." You sigh, settling back into your seat. "Plus, my life is different now. I'm trying to be healthier, to focus on being better in every aspect."
Lana rolls her eyes but doesn't give up. "Okay, okay. If you don't want to go clubbing, how about we go back to our usual routine of sitting at The Gossip and rating guys as they walk by?" Her tone shifts, almost pleading, like a kid begging for a new toy. "Come on, I'm only asking for a little guy rating and some wine!"
You glance over at her, watching as she pouts and gives you her best puppy-dog face. It's hard to resist, especially since a little wine and harmless fun don't sound so bad. You roll your eyes playfully, giving in. "Fine, but we're not going to any clubs afterward, okay?"
Lana's eyes light up with excitement. "No, no, I promise!" She's practically jumping as she heads toward the door.
"Alright, let's go," you say with a resigned smile, grabbing your purse and following her out.
...
An hour and a half later, you're both seated at a cozy table by the window at The Gossip, glasses of wine in hand. The familiar buzz of the restaurant and the chatter of people around you feel comforting. Lana points out a handsome guy passing by, and you laugh, sipping your wine.
It's fun, lighthearted, and exactly what you needed. No pressure, no expectations—just a simple night with a friend, enjoying life as it is.
"Okay, that guy—definitely a 7," you say, smirking as you watch another guy walk by.
Lana grins, clearly pleased she managed to get you out of the house. "I'm giving him an 8.5, look at those shoulders."
You giggle, relaxing into the evening, realizing that maybe this—these small, easy moments—are the best kind of healing.
Lana's eyes light up as she leans forward, practically bouncing in her seat. "God, that's definitely a 10!" she says, her voice laced with excitement.
You glance around, trying to spot who she's talking about. "Who?" you ask, scanning the area. You can't help but feel a little curious after seeing her reaction.
She points to a guy sitting across the restaurant, his long dark hair falling over his shoulders. "That guy right there," she says, her eyes gleaming.
You squint, trying to get a better look, but the guy's back is turned toward you. "I can't see his face," you say, leaning slightly to the side, hoping he'll turn around.
A few seconds pass, and then, as if on cue, he finally turns around—and your heart skips a beat. Is that...?
"Yoongi?" you say, wide-eyed, as the familiar face of the long-haired guy comes into view.
Yoongi, with his signature gummy smile, looks right at you, his eyes crinkling with recognition. He immediately changes direction and walks over to your table.
"You know him?" Lana asks, looking from you to Yoongi, her curiosity piqued.
You swallow, trying to act casual. "Yeah, he's... Jimin's friend," you manage to say, even though your mind is racing. It's been a while since you last saw him, but the sight of him feels oddly comforting.
"Yn!" Yoongi greets you warmly, his smile as laid-back and familiar as ever.
You stand up to greet Yoongi, and as soon as you're in front of him, you exchange a quick hug. He feels warm and familiar.
