Morning light streamed through the window, illuminating the turmoil on my face. I rubbed my eyes, the memory of last night's revelation still fresh. The thought sent a flutter through my chest.
I tossed off the covers and stumbled into the bathroom. As I splashed water on my face, my gaze met my reflection. What had I done?
Why did I allowed him to kiss me?
I stood under the scorching shower, letting the water wash away the remnants of last night's turmoil. My mind, however, refused to let go. Taehyung's kiss still lingered on my lips.
The memory of his warm breath, the soft pressure, the spark that ignited within me. I shut my eyes, willing the thoughts away. But they persisted.
Why did he kiss me?
Doesn't he love his wife?
The questions swirled, a maddening vortex. I turned off the shower and stepped out, water dripping from my hair. As I reached for a towel, my gaze fell on my reflection. My eyes looked haunted. My face, pale. My lips, still tingling from the kiss. I rubbed my eyes, trying to shake off the fatigue.
The clock on the wall read 8 AM.
I had a long day ahead. But my mind wasn't on the schedule.
It was on Taehyung.
His kiss.
His wife.
His kid.
Guilt and panic wrestled within me.I had to avoid him. For his family's sake. For my own sanity. I dressed quickly, my movements mechanical.
As I headed to the kitchen, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee enveloped me.
Jimin was already up, typing away on his laptop."Morning, Kook," he said, not looking up.
"Morning," I replied, my voice tight.
I poured myself a cup of coffee and sat down, trying to focus on the day ahead. As I sipped my coffee, my mind wandered back to the kiss. I stood up, needing to clear my head.
"Jimin, I'm going for a walk," I said, grabbing my jacket.
Jimin looked up, concern etched on his face.
"Kook, everything okay?"
I nodded, forcing a smile. "Yeah, just need some fresh air."
The streets were quiet, the morning sun casting long shadows. I walked aimlessly, lost in thought.
As I turned a corner, I spotted a small park. I sat down on a bench, watching children play. Their laughter and shouts filled the air. I felt a pang of sadness.
Taehyung's child would grow up with a father who...
No, I couldn't complete the thought. My phone buzzed, breaking the spell.
A text from an unknown number:
"Jungkook, we need to talk."
My heart skipped a beat.
Taehyung?
I stared at my phone, my mind playing tricks on me. Taehyung's voice still lingered in my thoughts.
But it was just my imagination.
He hadn't called.I hadn't received any messages.
I was just torturing myself. I stood up, shaking off the unease. Needed to clear my head. I began walking again, lost in thought.
