Jungkook POV :

I bounded up the stairs, unable to hold back my excitement. My heart was still racing, and I couldn't stop smiling, feeling grateful and relieved. I reached the bathroom, flicked on the light, and caught my reflection in the mirror. I looked a mess-hair sticking out, eyes a bit puffy-but I couldn't help laughing at myself.

Grabbing my toothbrush, I squeezed out the toothpaste and started brushing, almost humming in delight. Each brush stroke was quick and eager. The thought of sharing breakfast with Taehyung filled me with warmth, and I rinsed my mouth, splashing water on my face to wake myself up even more.

Turning on the shower, I stepped in, letting the warm water wash over me. It felt like it was rinsing away the last remnants of the nightmare, replacing them with the comforting reality that Taehyung was here with me. I hurried through, scrubbing and rinsing faster than usual, my mind already downstairs with him.

I stepped out of the shower, grabbed a towel, and dried off quickly, catching my reflection in the mirror again. I looked a little less frantic but still grinning like an idiot. Throwing on some clothes, I headed back down, my heart pounding with excitement to see him again and start the day together.

As I descended the stairs, still feeling the warmth and excitement from our earlier moments, my eyes scanned the living room, expecting to find Taehyung there. But he wasn't. My smile faltered, and I felt a twinge of unease. I quickly glanced around the room, hoping he'd pop out from behind the couch, but the space was quiet.

"Taehyung?" I called out, my voice wavering. Silence. The unease grew sharper, twisting in my stomach. I checked the kitchen, then the hallway, my heartbeat picking up as I moved faster, my mind racing. Where could he have gone?

"Taehyung!" I called again, louder this time, trying to calm the rising panic in my chest.

Just as my mind spun with worry, I felt arms wrap around me from behind, warm and secure. My whole body froze for a second, heart pounding at the unexpected touch. But then, the familiar warmth and scent filled my senses, and I knew exactly who it was.

A smile crept onto my face as I relaxed into his embrace. "You scared me," I whispered, my voice still a bit shaky.

Taehyung chuckled softly against my shoulder, tightening his grip around me.
I took a deep breath, trying to steady myself, and let my hands fall over his, savoring the reassurance his presence brought. "Just... don't disappear on me like that," I murmured, leaning back into him, grateful beyond words that he was here, safe and sound.

"Stay close to me," I said softly, unable to keep the worry out of my voice.

"Okay, Kookie," Taehyung replied, nodding with that playful glint in his eyes, before gently tugging me away from the spot. I followed him, my heart lightening a little as he held my hand tightly. "You know, I made breakfast today," he said, his eyes sparkling as he led me toward the kitchen. "Let's eat!"

A smile tugged at my lips, his enthusiasm contagious. "Really?" I raised an eyebrow, half-surprised and half-proud. But then a bit of worry slipped in. "You should've waited for me, though. What if something had happened while you were cooking?"

Taehyung chuckled, squeezing my hand reassuringly. "I was careful," he said, grinning at me. "Besides, I wanted to surprise you, and here you are, worrying already!"

I laughed, my heart warming at his thoughtfulness. "Alright, alright, but you know I can't help it. Just... promise you'll call me if you need help, okay?"

He nodded, a soft smile on his face, and for a moment, everything felt right.

We sat down at the table, and Taehyung proudly unveiled the breakfast he'd made. My eyes widened, surprised at how much he'd prepared-there was a mix of our favorite dishes, all laid out with his unique touch.
