Jungkook turned slowly, his breath still coming in short, panicked gasps. His heart stopped when his eyes fell on Taehyung standing there, safe and whole, looking at him with a mixture of concern and confusion. For a second, Jungkook couldn’t move, his mind struggling to process that Taehyung was actually in front of him, real and unharmed.

Then, as if breaking free from a trance, he ran toward Taehyung, arms reaching out with the urgency of someone who feared they might lose everything in an instant. His legs felt weak, and his vision blurred as fresh tears filled his eyes, but he didn’t care. All that mattered was Taehyung, warm and alive, standing before him.

Jungkook flung his arms around Taehyung, pulling him close, clutching him as if he would vanish the moment he let go. He buried his face in Taehyung’s shoulder, his sobs escaping in waves, raw and uncontrollable. His fingers dug into Taehyung’s shirt, holding him tighter as if to reassure himself that this was real—that Taehyung was here.

Taehyung stiffened in surprise, his arms hovering uncertainly before he wrapped them around Jungkook, embracing him with a gentle warmth. “Jungkook…?” he whispered, his voice soft but filled with concern. He brought a hand up to Jungkook’s back, rubbing in slow, comforting circles, sensing the depth of Jungkook’s distress. “What happened? Are you alright?”

Jungkook pulled back slightly, his face streaked with tears, eyes wide and frantic as he searched Taehyung’s face. His hands moved up to cup Taehyung’s cheeks, his gaze darting over every inch of Taehyung as if looking for any sign of injury. He swallowed hard, his voice thick and trembling. “Are you… okay? Taehyung, please… tell me you’re okay,” he choked out, his voice breaking.

Taehyung’s eyes softened, his brows knitting together as he looked at Jungkook. “I’m fine, Jungkook. I’m right here.” He gently placed his hand over Jungkook’s, squeezing it to reassure him. “Why are you crying like this? What happened?”

Jungkook tried to speak, but words failed him. The nightmare had felt so real—the blood, the fear, Hazel’s twisted voice haunting him. He couldn’t bear to relive it, and he didn’t know how to explain the horror he’d felt. His hands dropped from Taehyung’s face, falling to his sides as he looked down, fresh tears spilling over as he struggled to catch his breath.

Taehyung reached out and took Jungkook’s hands in his, his gaze gentle but full of concern. “Hey… whatever it is, I’m here. I’m not going anywhere.”

Jungkook nodded, swallowing back a sob, his chest aching with both relief and lingering fear. The reality of Taehyung’s presence washed over him, calming him, but his heart still felt fragile, as if one wrong word could shatter the peace he had so desperately needed.

They hug again. Jungkook tightened his grip around Taehyung, feeling the warmth and security he’d feared he’d lost forever. He pulled back just enough to look at him, his voice barely above a whisper, “Did you… did you go anywhere?”

Taehyung raised an eyebrow, a playful smirk softening his expression. “How could I?” he replied gently. “I can barely walk properly because of you,.” He gestured down at himself, feigning an exaggerated limp. “I was just out here, roaming in the garden.”

A heavy sigh of relief escaped Jungkook, and his knees nearly gave out from the weight lifting off his chest. “Thank God,” he murmured, voice breaking as he finally allowed himself to believe Taehyung was safe.

Taehyung’s gaze softened, his eyes scanning Jungkook’s face with concern. “But… what’s wrong?” he asked, lifting a hand to brush a thumb gently over Jungkook’s cheek. “Why are you crying so hard? My baby’s eyes are so red and puffy… it hurts me to see you like this.”

Without another word, Taehyung leaned forward, closing the small distance between them, and pressed a soft, lingering kiss to Jungkook’s lips. His touch was gentle, meant to soothe the frantic beat of Jungkook’s heart, to calm the storm of emotions swirling within him.

Jungkook’s breath hitched, and he melted into the kiss, his arms encircling Taehyung’s waist as he drew him closer, allowing Taehyung’s warmth and reassurance to ground him. The tears that still clung to his lashes began to dry, replaced by a quiet calm, a silent promise in Taehyung’s embrace that everything would be okay.

They stayed like that for a moment, holding each other in silence, Jungkook’s grip on Taehyung’s hands firm as he steadied himself. Finally, Jungkook whispered, “I thought… I thought I lost you.”

Taehyung’s gaze softened even more, his hand lifting to gently brush away the tears still clinging to Jungkook’s cheek. “I’m not going anywhere, Jungkook. I’m right here, always.”

With a deep breath, Jungkook leaned forward, pressing his forehead to Taehyung’s, his tears subsiding, replaced by the quiet relief that Taehyung was safe in his arms. The world around them seemed to fade, and for a moment, he forgot about the fear, the nightmare, and the aching worry that had taken hold of him.

Taehyung slowly pulled back, his hands  cupping Jungkook’s face, thumbs brushing gently along his cheeks. “Are you better now?” he asked softly, his voice tender. “Whatever it was, it’s okay. I’m right here with you.”

Jungkook took a shaky breath, still overwhelmed but comforted by Taehyung’s gentle touch. “I… I thought I’d lost you,” he admitted, his voice thick with emotion. “I had this nightmare. It felt so real. I saw…” He stopped, unable to bring himself to relive the images in his mind.

Taehyung’s brows knitted together, his eyes filled with concern. He pulled Jungkook into another hug, this time gentler, letting Jungkook rest his head against his shoulder. “I’m not going anywhere, Jungkook,” he murmured softly. “I’m here, and I’m not leaving your side.”

Jungkook’s hands tightened around Taehyung’s back, clinging to him as if he might disappear if he let go. “I don’t know what I’d do without you, Taehyung,” he whispered, his voice raw with vulnerability.

Taehyung chuckled softly, brushing a hand through Jungkook’s hair. “Well, you don’t have to think about that. I’m right here, just as I always will be. We’re together, remember?”

Jungkook nodded, his face still buried in Taehyung’s shoulder, taking in his warmth, his scent, the feeling of Taehyung’s heartbeat against him. He finally felt the remnants of fear melting away, replaced by a renewed sense of calm and certainty.

After a while, Jungkook pulled back, his eyes still red and puffy, but now softened by a small smile. “Thank you,” he murmured. “For being here. For being… you.”

Taehyung grinned, wiping away the last of Jungkook’s tears. “Always, Jungkook. Now, how about we go inside, get you cleaned up, and maybe grab some breakfast?”

Jungkook laughed, a sound that came out lighter and brighter than before. He nodded, feeling a weight lift as Taehyung took his hand, guiding him back inside with a reassuring squeeze, never once letting go.

As they reached the house, Jungkook carefully set Taehyung down on the couch, making sure he was comfortable. He knelt beside him, brushing a few strands of hair from Taehyung’s face, his gaze tender and filled with relief.

“Are you sure you’re okay?” Jungkook asked again, his voice soft but laced with worry. He couldn’t shake off the lingering fear from his nightmare, and he needed to be absolutely sure Taehyung was safe and unharmed.

Taehyung gave him a reassuring smile, reaching out to cup Jungkook’s face. “Yes, I promise, Kook. Just a little sore, that’s all.” Jungkook nodded, though his hand still held onto Taehyung’s, as if needing that extra touch to ground himself.

“Wait, let me make breakfast for us first,” Jungkook said, a soft smile on his face as he glanced at Taehyung.

Taehyung chuckled, gently reminding him, “You didn’t even wash your face or brush your teeth, Kook.”

Jungkook blinked, then laughed, a bit embarrassed. “Oops, you’re right.” He rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. “Alright, I’ll be back in 15 minutes, and then I’ll make breakfast.”

He leaned down, pressing a quick, affectionate kiss to Taehyung’s forehead. “Don’t go anywhere.”

Taehyung grinned as he watched Jungkook head off, warmth filling him from the small, caring gestures that made him feel so deeply loved.
